I agree, the public usually embraces the untalented and usher them to super-stardom, while beautifully gifted angels like Minnie Riperton, Miki Howard, Eva Cassidy, Syreeta Wright, and Shirley Murdock, to name a few, are grossly unappreciated. This is the worst example of how, as humans, we love the ugly and hate the beautiful.

I would truly love for someone to explain to me why she is a star. Her voice is horrible and she looks like an absolute train wreck. She appears to be as obnoxious as her voice. So why is she such a star? Is this generation really that out of tune with talent that talentless hacks like her make a fortune and become musical icons. I think it ironic that she would attack another talentless hack like Kayne West. I guess no talent recognizes no talent.

What really irritates me about Amy Winehouse is she had like 1 hit song about rehab and all the other news about her is drug related. It's really a shame when we encourage people to smoke crack by continuously supporting them. She isn't talented, She isn't nice to look at and she isn't even a nice person. Everything that comes out of her mouth is foul and we, the public, keep going to her shows and buying her albums. What kind of world do we live in when teenagers look up to crackheads???

Would anyone have stepped in for Janis? Marley? Elvis? Should they have? Genius is often marked by an inability to "deal" with the world, then compound that by the aggrandizing people who surround and cater to celebrities, and you have a picture of Amy, and Janis, et al. What if precedent was set here and someone did intervene: no more stumbling, slurring, irrational behavior... just pure, unadulterated talent, and beauty shining through. A true gift to her, and to the world.
