FACEBOOKWhile her screw up was very funny, it was awkward to watch. I do think it was an honest mistake. I don't think she's drunk or taking illicit drugs, rather, she is reacting to the prescription pain meds she takes for her documented medical condition. Those prescription pain meds can be very strong and make you somewhat (OK, in her case, VERY) loopy and disoriented. I think she needs her doctors to manage her meds better so she doesn't sound so ridiculous when she is in the public's eye.

Paula Abdul was not drunk at Tuesday night's American Idol, despite a TMZ.com report that blamed booze on her strange performance.
The alcohol claims are "absolutely not true," her rep told Usmagazine.com in a statement.
TMZ.com says the judge was "bubbly" after "at least one martini" at a lunch at Maggiano's restaurant in L.A. four hours before the show began.
But Abdul had another explanation for why she commented on two of contestant Jason Castro's songs – when he had only sung one (watch the wacky exchange here).
"It got very confusing," she told Entertainment Tonight after the show wrapped.
She explained: "The producers come up to us in the dark and said, 'We are not going to have you guys judge after each performer, we are going to have all the performers go once, then twice and at the end critique them.'"

If she wasn't drunk than she must have taken both her Xanex and Prozac pills at the same time, lol. The lady is a loon. The woman was obviously on something. I'm not her handler, but man oh man, something was going down with her. She normally babbles, yes, but she was literally out of it. Who cares anyways, her comments are puppies, kittens and sunshine anyways, you know the contestants don't care about Randy's, "YO Dawg, listen up," either....they wanna hear what Simon's gonna say. The producers are to blame because they changed how the judges are suppose to judge the Idols songs at the last minute, etc. Also, I heard Heidi is a lesbian & Spencer's gay!

But she's consistently goofy every week. And the other 2 judges didn't seem to have any trouble with the revised instructions. If she wasn't drunk, she may need to check the dosage of whatever it she is taking. She's not right...

I blame Paula being drunk. Jeez, how many times has she had to defend herself over these "accusations". She is clearly on SOMETHING, maybe that's why they say she's not drunk. Whatever she's using, it's messing up her professional life and that indicates it's a problem for her. Someone who doesn't have a problem with a substance can abstain from using it when they're at work.

I think Paula got confused, though you have to admit she does seem pretty goofy most of the time. We need to remember that we dont' see what goes on during the breaks. It's not unreasonable that the judges watch the dress rehearsal and then give some thought and make notes as to what they are going to say during their comment time. You honestly don't think they make those comments off the cuff, do you? The dress rehearsal isn't going to be that different from the actual performance. These people sing their songs the same way with little if any change from that point.

I kind of see where she could have been confused...when she said she was judging his second song then said she meant David Cook's song, he did go second, so maybe that's what she meant.

I was wondering if the show is edited that way. And she thought she was supposed to do both songs then and there. I'm sure she's heard him do both at practice. Also it's like slipping up on someones suprise party and letting the cat out of the bag. And yes, she was tipsy
