It's always good to hear someone making a positive change. Yes, meat is NOT important; you can get those nutrients from other foods.

The caveman era was a SHORT period during an ice age where plants were scarce. And humanity suffered for it - and continues to suffer due to their "everything but the kitchen sink" diet; no other species has such a wacky diet. Humans are by far the most diseased.

That's why vegitarians say its better.

There is always room for improvement in everyones life and we should be happy when someone find a way to improve their health. I don't ever remember hearing or reading that flesh meat does not taste good. The question is, is it the best diet for humans? Don't get upset educate yourself on the facts and research the scientific evidence. But what it boil down to is people care more about what they put on there body then what they put in their body. Have know fear God gave us all a choice we just pray you choose whats right so you may live a long and Healthy life.

Hey, Ruben! I'm really proud of you. Our church - Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX, started the new year off 'Living Large', and learning about how God blessed Daniel with the vegetarian diet he elected to follow. I suppose Daniel didn't want to offered the 'fatty meats' and foods that had been offered to idols. We fasted and prayed for 21 days, and followed the Daniel Diet, which is pretty much pure vegetarian. In doing so, it really changed my focus and let me see the types of things that are out of control in my life, and with the whole process of fast foods, etc. Sometimes we get in such a rut trying to overcome doing stuff by the same ole system, when if we look to God and discover he has ways for us to do things better -- and try His ways, we are tremendously blessed. I wouldn't say spiritually for me that God requires me to be totally vegetarian, because He does tells us in the bible which meats are safe to eat. The reality of all this is back in those early bible days, those people probably didn't have access to all the meat sources and processed foods that we have today. It's funny when God makes something and says "It's good", that we think we can add too it, change it, and/or make it a bit better. Look at all the health problems that have occurred with all the processed foods we eat - meat,flour, sugar, preservatives, etc, and the outbreak of diabetes, and cholesterol/heart problems. After fasting for 21 days, I am considering eating more vegetarian foods for spiritual and health reasons, but I know every once in a while I could go out and eat a nice steak or burger at a higher quality restaurant, and I wouldn't be struck dead. I think we tend to go overboard with our eating at times without realizing it. In the Bible, the fatted calf was killed for very special occassions. We tend to think every day is a special occassion. guess what, if you get enemas you will sh*t alot. If you eat only meat, you probably won't sh*t too much. If you eat a balanced diet with fiber in it, you will sh*t a normal amount.

Anonymous 11:46 - you are probably more highly evolved than some people. Check the facts (saliva, teeth, digestion) and you'll see that people have way more in common with herbivores than carnivores OR omnivores. And we're slowly becoming less and less like our caveman ancestors and more and more suited to a veggie lifestyle, people like you that just don't naturally process meat well are, like, the future.

Jesus, you might want to stop drinking hard liquor or smoking. You may think you look good on the outside, but your insides probably look like crap. I come from a family where everyone mostly died of lung cancer from smoking or liver disease from drinking hard liquor. In the end, it ain't pretty.

I eat meat, drink lots of water, and exercise 4 times a week. I feel great so I don't know why vegetarians try and force their way of life onto other people. I wish I had a big juicy burger right now!!!

You moron! If you would actually educate yourself, you would realize that the meat industry is one of the biggest polluters in this country! A majority of the farmable topsoil in the U.S. has been permanently eroded and damaged because of overgrazing of cattle - for the beef industry, not the dairy industry. Beef and pork farms are also the number one polluter of U.S. waterways - all their manure and waste goes straight into our reasons. The number one reason the Amazon Rainforest is being destroyed is because they're making new grazing ground for cattle to turn into beef! Did you know that a majority of the produce and vegetables in the U.S. are grown for animals, while they're being raised to get slaughtered for meat? It is also a fact that if more people switched to a Vegetarian diet, there would be far more produce and vegetables to eat - more of the world's population could be fed if we raised produce for humans instead of animals. So no, you twit, Vegetarians don't brag because they're "better" or "just stopped eating meat" - they're actually being more economically and ecologically responsible - so next time you run your mouth, find out the facts and educate yourself before you talk sh*t about something you clearly have no understanding of. By not eating meat, I save 1 acre of land a year from getting destroyed to turn into grazing ground. 1 ACRE. What the hell are you doing for this planet? Human life will not be sustainable upon this earth in a shorter time than anyone realizes, we're populating faster and faster, driving cars, wasting our produce on animals for meat, using up energy and resources, depleting the trees...rent "An Incovenient Truth" by Al Gore, it just came out - EDUCATE YOURSELF. Eating meat, though most of you don't realize it, is one of the biggest things that's destroying the environment, not to mention perpetuating world hunger - so many more mouths could be fed if our produce wasn't wasted on animals for meat. It also takes so much more water for animals who are just future meat. Look all of this up on the internet - you will find all the facts and figures. Eating meat is wasteful and gluttonous - the only good argument for it is "it tastes good", which is asinine in itself. So if you perceive it as bragging, maybe it's because we're better educated as to why the evolution to a Vegetarian diet is so, SO important to life on this planet. You obviously have no clue and just embarrass yourself, chiding people who are better informed.
