Rumer Willis gave an interview this week discussing the responsibilities of fame.

"It's a 24-hour job," she said. "It doesn't matter if you are going out to a restaurant – you have to be aware of what you are doing and how you look and how you are presenting yourself, because most of the time people never get to know you."

Look at that "Beetlejuice" guy from the Howard Stern show, or Jocelyn Wildenstein, or that chick who played Hatchetface in John Waters' "Cry Baby". All those people are total freakshows and have reached a certain level of fame. And if they can achieve fame despite their less than classic beauty, then so can Rumer.--------------------------------

Wow...to be compared to those "beauties." I am sure Rumer, aka potato head, will sleep soooooooo much sounder tonight. I am sure Tumor Willis will be forever grateful for that astute comparison. (and no, i did NOT unintentionally misspell/typo her name the 2nd time.)

i met her before in Idaho (Hailey)a couple of times, she went to school with my then boyfriends baby sister and they were friendly. but yes, not pretty at all. even in person. her sister scout i think it was who i also saw too once, was equally as unattractive.

I blame Hollywood's impossible standards of beauty for this bias against Rumer. People think that if you aren't thin and classically perfect that you can't be a star. But that's totally not true.

I can't believe how many people are ragging on Rumer for saying something about fame. Let's talk about other people who are famous for nothing - can we say PARIS??? Puh-lease. If anyone should be thrown off their imaginary throne it should be her! Did anyone even know who she was before she put out her own porn video?
These days it really doesn't take anything to be famous - or infamous.
Besides, anyone who reads websites and magazines like this one often enough knows who Rumer Willis is, doesn't that alone make her famous? It's closer than any of us will ever get to fame!

Hey people, stop being so hard on her.
She's actually lovely to look at and is famous by virtue of who she is.
The list of people who are famous for absolutely nothing is quite long. Why single out Rumor as ugly, when she is not?
She has a sweet, interesting face that's far more attractive than many other currently-famous pseudo-celebs.
I think if you are going to call someone out on their looks like that you should be willing to post a photo of your own sorry faces.

she will never achieve the same level of fame other children of the famous achieve even if she is talented (which I am not saying she is or isn't) because she just flat out does not have a feminine look. but who knows, maybe hollywood, and the rest of the USA will eventually become less superficial and will accept her as she is.
