Is Ryan Phillippe's actress flame, Abbie Cornish, playing mommy?
Us Weekly reports in its new issue that the on-again pair — who were seeing each other when Phillippe split from Reese Witherspoon, 31, last October — not only still have "a ton of chemistry," says a source, but Cornish, 25, has been bonding with Phillippe's kids.
On December 2, the couple took Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4, shopping for Christmas décor in L.A. "Ava seemed very comfortable with Abbie," says a witness. "Ava picked a wreath and Abbie put it around her head as a joke. They were both laughing."
And how does Phillippe, 33, feel about his sweetie? Says the source, "Abbie is a free spirit. She indulges a side of Ryan that he's kept under wraps for years."

I think they're cool together. Face facts. Ryan and Reese would never have gotten married if she hadn't gotten pregnant. They tried to have a life together but it didn't work out.
They both deserve to find someone else and move on and be happy.

Abbie went shopping with Ryan and his kids? Big whoop. The two of them could easily just be catching up as friends, or perhaps he wasn't even there (well, he's not in the photos) and she was doing him a favour by babysitting in an emergency. Let's face it, anyone with half a brain who reads this article would be well aware that there are dozens of totally innocent possible explanations. But it's more fun to just decide it looks seedy and jump up and down and scream "Homewrecker!", because everyone loves Reese Witherspoon. She's America's Sweetheart, an old-fashioned Southern belle who's made a career out of playing innocents... but who is also known (unlike the unproven Ryan/Abbie affair) to be seeing Jake Gyllenhaal. Who she met filming a movie at the same time the divorce was announced. Yet, no one thinks that maybe REESE was the one who had the affair and finally killed the marriage?

I've said this before and I'll say it again. It is just too soon after a divorce for these kids to be interacting or "bonding" with new partners of their parents. I guess Ryan thought it would be ok since Reese is doing it. Bad decision Ryan. It seems neither Reese or Ryan are thinking of the children's well being first.that's hollywood parents for you I guess. They don't want to be seen as single for too long. the children's welfare be damned. Britney Spears isn't the only self centered parent in Hollywood. She's just the only who gets bad press.

Abbie Cornish didn't just screw Ryan Philippe, she screwed herself. And Ryan has always been threatened by Reese's career success. He acted like a petulant child instead of a man. He didn't earn Reese's career success, so he is being gravely unjust by resenting hers. He needs to grow up and be a man instead of the bratty "frat boy," as someone so eloquently put it.

Abbie Cornish's burgeoning career is in the toilet, because the public won't accept an adulteress. She knew Ryan Philippe was married, yet she not only slept with him anyway, she allowed herself to be the issue that caused their divorce. Ryan may enjoy the relationship because of the scandalous "forbidden fruit" factor, but when the thrill of the chase ends, so does this relationship. These kinds of relationships never last when reality sets in.

I know many women that put up with their cheating husbands hoping that things will change, for the family, for the kids. Getting divorced isn't that easy to predict if it's your marriage, 50% of this country gets divorced for various reasons.
If somebody begged you for another chance time and time again and you had two very young kids that you wish to protect, then you would agree to things you normally would not.

9:04 pm - If what you're saying is true, then who's fault is it really that they're in the situation that they're in now? I mean, I love Reese, but people only treat you the way YOU allow them to treat you. If she knew he was a jerk from the beginning (like you stated), then she shouldn't have married him. Even moreso, she shouldn't have had a second child in an unstable relationship to try to keep her marriage together because that does NOT work (look at Britney). And getting married just because you got pregnant (which is the reason Ryan gave for marrying her in the first place) is never a good foundation for a marriage's survival. It's their job as parents to make sure that they give their children a stable, healthy environment to grow up in. And all the arguing that lead them to counseling was NOT healthy. This divorce is the best thing that happened to BOTH parties and was probably long overdue no matter how cute they may've looked together.

There was a long history of his cheating, hitting the clubs and several seperations, resulting in counseling. She didn't want to divorce and forgave him many times because she didn't want to split her family and she comes from a history of long marriages (her parents & grand parents).
Eventually he became to public with his affairs and to involved with his Abby relationship, she had no choice but to file.
US Weekly says
"she is a free spirit and brings out that side of him, the side he hasn't been able to enjoy" That means cheating, doing drugs, drinking and not being tied down. Hello, US magazine, you don't get to be a free spirit when you have a wife and two young kids.
Trust me there have been credible sighting and sources of his cheating and taking off to his place in Venice over the years.
