SAG Finds Ugly Betty Beautiful

 Getty Images Winning is twice as nice for Ugly Betty star America Ferrera. The 22-year-old actress scored a SAG award for Best Performance By An Actress in a Comedy Series. Ferrera also won the same award two weeks ago at the 2007 Golden Globe Awards, thus completing her awards sweep for TV's funniest lady. A visibly nervous Ferrera, wearing a low cut green dress (that made her look anything but ugly), thanked her fellow actors for the honor. "I look out and I see faces that inspire me and moved me my entire life since I was just a wee little one, " she said in her acceptance speech. "And being here honored by these faces is more than I can express." She finished her speech by saying, "What's amazing is that we share a common knowledge of struggle and rejection and now of success... and I thank you from the bottom of my heart." She looked fantastic and had a very positive message that more women need to here. The show is incredible so well written and the best ensemble cast I have seen in years it truly deserves all the praise it receives.

There is something seriously wrong with the world when someone who just looks normal is regarded as ugly. America Ferrera is not ugly but at the same time she is not exceptionally beautiful. She is a nice looking but average featured woman. The people on here who think that she is ugly should take a look around as there are many people everywhere who are just absolutely unattractive and well..ugly. She looks like the people who I see when I walk down the street and when I go to class. She has nice skin and eyes and a nice smile and she maintains a weight suitable to her natural body type and I just do not see what is ugly about her. At the same time I don't see her as a classic beauty who stands out in a crowd because of her looks but that is ok I mean SHE IS AN ACTRESS NOT A MODEL so her job is to act not to be beautiful!

really seems all of you hate thin women... there is no need to be so hateful if someone is thin, just because that's how they are naturally, and NOT anorexic... anyone can be beautiful and happy no matter what size, shape, height that they are... i am a petite, small framed person, who use to be FAT, and lost the extra lbs...during my teenage years...and i know all too well what its like to be called names... now i'm a healthy petite... and think you all out there are a bit overexaggerating about this whole chubby thing......gimme a break! are you all saying that it's cool to be chubby and curvy? ...not EVERYONE appreciates how you look... but i appreciate, how i look...and am happy to say i aint chubby/fat anymore!!! ...here's to eating heathly and living a good damn life!

It is really sad that people if you even want to call them that are so occupied with body image. America is a beautiful real woman - a real woman with curves. All of my guy friends want a girl with meat on there bodies not bones pertruding from all sorts. They want someone they can go out and have a burger with not a freaking salad. Last time I checked I was a "real woman" although I don't have curves (I have one). It's the parts you have and how you feel that make you a "real" woman. Real women come in all shapes and sizes.

Size isnt everything. Most men want a woman for a wife that is healthy and someone they can hold on to. They only want to play with the little skinny ones for a while and then get a real woman. As they say, real women have curves. Being "thin" with fake boobs and a dye/bleach job is for playboys who dont want to settle down and have a real life with a family. It is a SCIENTIFIC fact that men will focus more on women who have the hips and curves - that shows they are healthy and can bare children. Skinny women have a tendancy to be vain and dont want to lose their figues due to childbirth. I have 4 kids, wear a size 10, and still get the whistles and cat calls at 40! I am proud of my size and my weight. I love my family and my friends and they love me for who I am. And they are right, it isnt always what is on the outside. I dont think that I am one of the beautiful ones, but I hold my head up when I walk down the street. Confidence in ones self has a lot to do with what other people think of you. America has all the right in the world to be confident in herself now and she deserves it. Congrats to her, and she looks GREAT!
