Comedian Sarah Silverman laid off Paris Hilton (for the most part) during her monologue at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, and instead claimed Britney Spears as her latest victim.
Immediately following Spears’ glittery opening performance, Silverman poked fun at the singer’s early rise to fame. “Was that incredible?" she asked the crowd. "She is amazing. I mean, she is 25 years old and she’s already accomplished everything she’s going to accomplish in her life.”
She continued: “It’s weird to think that just a few years ago on this very show, she was this, like, sweet innocent little girl in slutty clothes writhing around with a python. That’s not nice…calling Madonna a python.”
Even Spears’ sons, Jayden and Sean, who turn 1 and 2 next week, respectively, were fair game.
“Have you seen Britney’s kids? Oh my god, they are the most adorable mistakes you will ever see!” Silverman trilled. “They are as cute as the hairless vagina they came out of.”

I don't like Spears at all. I think she has no talent whatsoever, BUT I would have loved it if she had walked out on stage and punched Silverman in the face when she started raggin on her kids. When Silverman brought up the children she lowered herself to a level so discusting that you could feel the tension in the crowd through the television. Maybe that's why she looked like she was punched in the face and she walked of stage.

We had tickets to see her show in AC and was so disappointed in
her tv appearance, that we gave our seats away. We go to comedy clubs on a regular basis. Sometimes certain ones aren't that funny. I'm a little surprised that she got as far as she has in TV.

Just wanted to say that Britney's performance was actually quite lame, BUT - Sarah Silverman was even lamer!!!
I've never been a fan of Spears, but I thought Silverman was SO out of line insulting her when she'd just left the stage!
There was nothing cool, clever, or funny about what she said/did... it was purely cringe-worthy.
Note how many people were shocked into silence at her "jokes"? You could almost hear a pin drop at one point- it was THAT quiet!

Over the age of 25? You American? I'm 21 and, lemme tell ya, here in the UK we have kids aged 13 who could understand her humour. Maybe we're brought up cynical A'holes!?! I don't think you can slam people for being young or put an age restriction on intelligence/humour - you either have it or you don't!

Sarah Silverman is not funny. She is as mean as they get and thinks that the public thinks it's somehow funny or cute to be cruel and bigoted. Comedians like her, such as Kathy Griffin, Jimmy Kimmel, Bill Maher, Andy Dick, Matt Stone and Trey Parker of South Park and Carlos Mencia cross the line of decency constantly. Thankfully I don't have children yet because I'd hate to think of what attitudes, behaviors and language they would be picking up watching television. As a concerned citizen though I'll tell you that it scares me to see where we are and where we are going as a society.

Silverman is freakin' hilarious... and the joke about Britney's kids was also hilarious. The point to remember here is it was told as a joke... not told as a serious commentary. Anyone ever seen a roast? That's basically what Silverman was pulling out on Britney here... the comment about her being 25 and already accomplishing everything she would in life was great too... double stab... love it!
This no talent train wreck should have never made it this far anyways... she can't even sing, why do we watch her or listen to her? At least Christina Aguilera can't belt out some real vocals for Christ sake!!! Anyone can be a star these days... talent isn't necessary anymore apparently.
