Jennifer Lopez has admitted in a shocking interview (shocking because J.Lo deigned to grant an interview to a plebian NBC affiliate) that she has a Scientologist in the family.

"My dad has been a Scientologist for 20 years," J. Lo said.

Her close friends Tom Cruise and Leah Remini are followers of Scientology (which has reportedly selected Cruise as its personal Jesus), but J.Lo doesn't need their spaceship religion.

"I, myself, am Catholic," the 37-year-old Lopez said. "But it's just sad that people would look at it (Scientology) in that way."

Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham reportedly also has no plans to join to the preferred religion of her friends -- despite the reported $250 million paycheck that husband David will collect when he joins the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team this summer.

While an Us source close to Posh says it's all bunk, a source with the New York Daily News' Gatecrasher claims Mrs. Backham was overheard saying, ""There's no way I'd spend any money on that nonsense."

Another pal reportedly said: "It's completely laughable that there's even talk of her becoming a Scientologist. Just because people are friends with someone doesn't mean they do everything they do. Scientology is like kabbala in that it's become all about money. Kabbala bracelets are now $28! It's a joke."

Indeed, Posh might do better to find herself a more wallet-friendly faith. Maybe something, like, with branches on Rodeo Drive and Robertson Boulevard and in-house facials by Bliss Spa.
