personally i think its badass, not going to lie, if i was an actor, i would be a bit reckless myself, i mean... you have a lot of money if your good at acting.. So why not do some things if you can afford the hit to the check book.

you guys need to lighten up. I know what he did was wrong but do u honestly think he doesn't regret it? U know how many people get DUI's a day? I don't see u guys posting hate comments about them. Just becuz he's an actor doesn't mean he's different from the rest of us. It just means that when he makes a mistake EVERYONE knows about it. i love this actor. he is smart, handsom, and kind.i hate that people are talking about him when clearly it was the other driver's fault. if that guy did not run a red light, poor shia would not be in the condition that he is in now. i just hope that he is alright and that the surgery went ok.

What if somebody decided to do that to you when you run them off the road by "accident" [[such a petty word used by ridiculous minors]], or hit them while they are in the turning lane? And I have seen this happen and while this lady what cut out of her car--people were trying to say that she needed to go to jail... with bones hanging out of her legs. What would your family be left to do? What's your excuse? You weren't drunk, that's not an "excuse", well, there's a guy with a broken neck from whiplash and a judge waiting on your for your answer, yeah, that's right, they are sueing "the pants off you", and strangely enough, unlike Shia, your pants are going to be ALL that you have left! When you are on the road, look out for yourself. I agree with several others, what's the big deal with hiring a chauffeur?! It's really not that hard, and they have the money! Come on, Paris Hilton, like you can't shovel out the bux to have someone drive your sorry self around while you get completely hammered?! Even I'd do it for the right price.

Back then there were no seat belt laws or laws requiring children be restrained in car seats either. And, hmm, let me think why they put laws on the books about that behavior. I don't believe they have released what Shia's blood alcohol level was, but obviously it was enough for him to be arrested. Drinking and driving kills. 22 years old, is NOT just a kid. He's an adult and made an adult decision to drive drunk. He could've killed somebody or better yet himself. Stop making excused for these celebs.

He got drunk and went into a drug store acting a fool and now he got trashed and drove his car? These just SCREAM give me attention. Um, 9:32 anon; No, EVERYONE does not get drunk/high and jump in a car. The only people who say bullsh*t like that are the sorry people who have done just that.
