Usmagazine.com has learned exclusively that Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are engaged!
Pratt, 23, popped the question to Montag, 20, Tuesday night at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, says a source who adds: "She said 'yes.' She's over the moon!"
The Hills stars, whose controversial courtship was chronicled last season on the hit MTV reality series, have been dating for just eight months.
Pratt purchased the diamond-encrusted platinum band with a pink stone on Monday at Ice at Brentwood Gardens before presenting Montag with his bended-knee proposal, according to a source. An eyewitness at the store tells Us, "She was trying on tons of them and they looked really happy!"
Montag was formerly a close friend and roommate of her Hills co-star Lauren Conrad, 21, until Pratt earlier this year urged Montag to move out of Conrad's apartment and in with him. The couple has not yet set a wedding date.
A rep for MTV told Us: "We do not comment on our stars' personal lives."

Wow... I can't believe the ignorant things that some people say. Heidi and Spencer are the most interesting thing on the show! Heidi didn't do anything to Lauren... LC is waayyy too controlling. Who needs a friend like that anyway? Spencer and Heidi love each other, and they don't need Laurens permission to be together. As for the sex tape... what do you want to bet that Jason and Lauren did make a tape... Lauren told Heidi not to say anything... Heidi told Spencer... and he posted it for the public. Of course Heidi was going to tell her other half, and the real reason Lauren is mad is because now everyone knows! She wouldn't take it so personally if it was just a rumour! You get it? Oh, and Elody! Are you kidding me! ANYONE, would have stood up to get the position that they were working towards. Obviously Heidi deserved the position more than she did. Who cares if Heidi got plastic surgery (even though she was beautiful the way she was), and Spencer IS attractive. Everyone has their own opinion. Give them both a break!

Okay is it just me or did anyone else notice that it only took him like 10 seconds to pick out a ring and then he wasn't even the one who bought it, Brody did. Does he know anything about jewelry? Never by an engagement ring at a store where you can by luggage and dishes and brag about it if you are supposedly a rich brat. He looks stupid and cheap and way too eager and how stupid is Heidi? Doesn't she watch the show? My husband shopped for days and I'm not a rich brat like they are and my ring cost more than hers. Not that the ring isn't pretty, but it appeared he didn't even look at it closely, ask any quetions, shop around, or anything...just ordered it like a flank of steak at the meat market. Does this Spencer guy, who looks like a psychopathic child molester by he way, ever work. He always sits on the couch with his laptop waiting for Heidi to come home. If he was anybody, wouldn't we know who he was before the show. He is so irritating and the way they talk to each other...Gross...with his big teeth and wife beating grin and crazy eyes...How could Heidi say anything else but "yes."

Spencer Pratt is so gay. I only watched 1 1/2 episodes of "The Hills" to see what it was all about, and knew Spencer was gay from the moment he opened his mouth. Which confused me a few seconds later when I realized who he was and that he was the one in the Spencer, Heidi, Lauren fight.
This engagement is a total farce. Spencer and Heidi are in it for the publicity alone. She probably knows he is gay.
She couldn't even keep it together when they visited her parents.
Lauren is probably angry because she knows the truth about Spencer and that Heidi is just an attention seeker.
