I need to come to stevens defense. yes ofcourse to an outsider this may sound like a pathetic excuse. however you must understand that someone who has dealt with and abused drugs can easily have a relapse. Pain killers are so easy to abtain and be used to the extent of further injury. I think it would only be sensible he does not want to fall back into drugs and be monitored with his recovery. And for someone who has never known anyone with an addictive personality, has no idea of the fear you go through that you can possibly relapse. If you were once an addict then its a life long struggle to stay clean. Its incredibly arrogant for someone to quickly judge and say his lying. I visited the rehab center for a close friend who has staying there and its 100% true what he has stated. He was a very sweet guy and friendly to everyone. I hope only the best for him.

I guess rehab isn't just for drunks and druggies anymore. First we have Kirsten Dunst claiming rehab for depression, now Steven Tyler for a foot injury. I, for one, would rather rest at home after a surgery than in a facility where people are constantly coming in to check vitals, feed you, etc. Surely a man of Steven Tyler's standing has a private villa at his disposal that he can staff up however he wants to rest up after surgery without the interruption of cell phones or whatever his excuse was? I don't believe for second that he went to rehab for any reason other than to kick some sort of drug or alcohol dependancy.

I agree with 12:19. If he was given pain meds following surgery, he may have wanted to be in an environment where they could monitor his medication intake and make sure he didn't abuse them. Sounds pretty smart if you ask me. 11:53 needs to get a life!
