Julia Roberts has been named the "global ambassadress" of Lancome.

"By her remarkable personality and career, Julia Roberts is an emblematic woman of her time," Lancome's international president Youcef Nabi said in a statement Friday. "Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments, perfectly echo Lancome's values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible."

Although some celebrities have endorsed Lancome, Roberts is the first official spokesmodel for the full brand. (Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway have been the faces of specific Lancome fragrances, and Juliette Binoche and Clive Owen have represented specific aspects of the brand.)
