Recessionista: White Wedding for Less!

Friday – October 02, 2009 – 1:53pm

Know a bride on a budget?

I was surfing the net the other night and stumbled on the Kleinfeld Bridal Blog where they announced that famed wedding dress designer, Monique Lhuiilier, was introducing a new line of bridal gowns called Bliss by Monique Lhullier. The collection includes 14 gowns in all, and the prices range from $2400 to $3500. That's pretty amazing and quite wonderful.

So, while you peruse the store and check out the new range of Lanvin wedding dresses and the bridal Jimmy Choo shoe collection, you can come down to reality and check out Bliss.

For more information, visit the Kleinfeld Bridal Blog.

Where online at Target are wedding dresses?

Target does have wedding dresses, only online though. David's Bridal has dresses under $500

On www.BronzeBugdetBride.com they have links to wedding dresses that look so elegant for under $500 for budget brides who don't have $2000 to spend on a dress, as a matter of fact, some of the brides have only $2000 for the whole wedding.

I am currently looking for a wedding dress while trying to stay within our budge of $3000 for the entire wedding and reception. There are stores out there that offer beautiful gowns for under $500. I don't see paying $2400 to $3500 on a dress your only going to wear once and that will hang in your closet until you give it away or die. What they should do is rent the dress for the day.

This whole blog is a bit of a joke. In this post, Sascha, the Us Weekly Recessionista tells us, "The collection includes 14 gowns in all, and the prices range from $2400 to $3500. That's pretty amazing and quite wonderful. " This is amazing and wonderful in the bleakest economy since the Great Depression? What are you smoking? What do you expect from a mean-spirited celebrity gossip magazine that sends photogs out to hide in people's bushes and take pictures of them to sell for profit? BLUCK!

You have got to be KIDDING me!! This is a "budget"?? HAHA

Target should collaborate with some designers on a line of wedding gowns. I know it might sound like a strange idea, but if done nicely and priced well, I think there would be a real market for wedding dresses at target. Wedding dresses that you would never have guessed came from target but are beautiful and 500.00 or less. 3,500.00 is still a high priced gown.

I agree, not a budget dress. This designer is out of touch. I can't imagine that she can't make a dress for 1,500, and still make a profit.

THE QUESTION WE REALLY NEED TO ASK, IS THERE ANY BRIDE THAT DESERVES TO WHERE WHITE ON HER WEDDING DAY. WHAT DOES WHITE REPRESENT, "PURITY'.

ha ha ha ha! This is so freaking funny...who cares what designer you wear?! People only remember that you looked pretty (not that the dress had cascading tulle flowers on the train) and that you served good booze.

fuck! If that's budget friendly, I hate to see what the prices in her regular line are

Are you serious? Whose budget, a celebrity's? What a joke.
  • October 02, 2009 - 5:36pm Anonymous Says:

    Definitely not budget. Try again.

I think a budget wedding dress should be $1500 and under. Seriously...
  • October 02, 2009 - 2:30pm Anonymous Says:

Sorry but that's not a budget. At least not mine.
