She’s hip! Emily Ratajkowski‘s dress at the IMG + Target New York Fashion Week Kickoff party on Tuesday, September 6, showed a lot of skin in an unexpected spot.
The Gone Girl actress, 25, went daring in a nude Zimmermann design that featured a large circular cutout on her right hip and highlighted the fact that she wasn’t wearing underwear. She paired the asymmetrical frock with a black jacket from Target, a metallic clutch and strappy nude heels.
Ratajkowski, who attended the event with fellow models Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls and Chanel Iman, posted a side-by-side pic of the look that put the bold detail front and center. She captioned it simply, “🗽.”
The ensemble isn’t an unusual choice for the model, who is known for her barely there styles. Apart from this revealing outfit, she wore a red next-to-nothing number on August 10, went topless in a selfie with Kim Kardashian in March 2016, and bared it all in Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” video in 2013.
In a recent essay for Glamour, Ratajkowski mused that while being scantily clad is sometimes seen as attention-seeking, it shouldn’t always be portrayed as a female-only ploy. “Our society doesn’t question men’s motivations for taking their shirt off, or shaving, or talking about politics — nor should it. Wanting attention is genderless. It’s human,” she wrote in an excerpt posted to Instagram earlier that same day. “We shouldn’t have to apologize for wanting attention … We don’t owe anyone an explanation.”
