Girl. Get. It! Gwyneth Paltrow has donned some bold ensembles in her time, but perhaps her most daring to date? A bikini and a cape — while grocery shopping — for Harper’s Bazaar‘s November 2016 issue.

The Oscar-winning actress, 44, covers the mag’s annual “Daring Issue,” and indeed, the outfits she modeled for the inside spread are just that. While posing on a supermarket counter, Paltrow wore just an asymmetrical Eres bikini and a Saint Laurent blazer. (Take a minute to take in those muscles.) And for a stop in the frozen foods aisle, she rocked another Eres swimsuit, a plunging one-piece, with a Valentino cape.

Just as steamy, Paltrow, who shares two children with her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, wore a lace Ellen Christine Couture mask with a black lace bodysuit by La Perla, all while working a sideways smile, for the cover shot.

In the accompanying story, the Goop founder dished on what it means to her to be daring at 44 and the other woman she takes her adventurous cues from. “My daughter [Apple, 12] is super ballsy. I always follow her lead,” Paltrow said. “I actually don’t need to encourage her to take risks. She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get. It’s really inspiring to see that in a young woman.”

That said, the Mortdecai actress knows it won’t always be easy to be bold. “In my case, I’ve borne these two kids into a particularly strange circumstance,” shared Paltrow, who also has son Moses, 10. “They are going to have to fend off a lot and protect themselves from a lot of projections and prejudice about who they are, coming from the family that they come from.”

As for her age, Paltrow feels that after four decades, she’s finally come into her own. “If you haven’t taken all of life’s incredible knocks and disappointments and used them to become a fully integrated, self-expressing person by the time you’re 40, then what can I tell you?” she quipped.
