Kiss those cat ears goodbye! This year, get your Halloween costume inspo from everyone’s favorite social media network: Snapchat. The popular app isn’t just a way to keep up with your friends’ posts that expire in 24 hours — it also offers superflattering filters like the Chrissy Teigen–approved flower crown and the butterfly tiara favored by Kim Kardashian. Now, Christy Doramus of Crowns by Christy teaches Us Weekly how to re-create those effects for the scariest day of the year. Take a look at the video above to see just how it’s done!
The challenge of turning a digital accessory into something IRL may seem daunting, but Doramus, who’s made headpieces for celebrities like Drew Barrymore, makes it look as easy as 1-2-3 — literally. The flower crowns only require three major supplies: flowers (of course!), craft wire and florist wire. Doramus recommends picking blooms like peonies, daisies and mums, which are similar to the filter's flowers for an almost-perfect match.
Keep watching the video for instructions on how to assemble the butterfly crown.
