While many brides go for an A-line silhouette, Nicole Phelps wanted anything but predictable for her big day and wore a nontraditional wedding gown for her nuptials to Michael Phelps on Saturday, October 29.
The former Miss California, 31, looked stunning in a form-fitting white Julie Vino gown that featured a lace embroidered V-neck cap-sleeve bodice and a silk skirt with a thigh-high slit. She accessorized with a headpiece and strappy heels.
The model worked closely with the Israeli designer to create the look. Vino tells Us Weekly that Nicole “wanted a non-traditional bridal look” and “to feel comfortable yet still look glamourous.”
“She wanted a more fashion-forward style and approached us based on dresses of ours she had seen online,” Vino added. “As soon as she put on the dress for the first time she started to cry and didn’t want to take it off. It was a perfect fit and looked absolutely stunning on her.”

As previously reported, Nicole and Phelps, also 31, formally tied the knot at El Dorado Golf and Beach Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Saturday after getting legally married in June. The couple said “I do” before 50 close family members and friends, including their 5-month-old son, Boomer, who was in attendance throughout the whole ceremony.
“Truly the happiest day of my life @m_phelps00 thank you @boonestudios for capturing this day 😘,” the new Mrs. Phelps wrote alongside a sweet Instagram photo from their big day on Sunday, October 30.
The most decorated Olympic athlete also shared a romantic shot on his own Instagram account.
“My best friend…. I love you!!” the swimmer captioned a photo of them walking down the aisle after exchanging vows.
