I've been of fan since "Paper Moon" came out and I wish her the best, but it's up to her - personal choice. All of us have things to deal with in life and it is up to the individual on how to handle themselves. I've also read her book, but I have neven taken drugs so I cannot relate. Hopefully she'll get thru this okay. At 44 years old, she still has a long life ahead of her and she needs to be around for her children. Get better, Tatum!

Tatum lives on the block next to me in the lower east side. She's been nothing but nice when I've ran into her and I've seen her be a caring mother with her daughter. In all the times I've seen her she has never looked like she was under the influence at all, she's usually in gym clothes going to work out. I really thought she'd kicked the habit but people make mistakes. Hopefully she got caught by the cops before she could actually use the drugs she was buying. Maybe its better to get caught than to relapse. My thoughts are with her and her children.

In situations like this, we (humans) should provide understanding, caring and help the person who need it with providing a light or a reason to live for the needed person. Stop critizing without knowing what she's being through. Is always easy to talk about somebody, but is hard to see your or recognize your own problems.

We love you Tatum. You brought much laughter and joy to many of us. Keep trying doll face...we wish you love and good health.

I feel sorry for her since I have been there myself 12 years ago. Cocaine addition is a very difficult habit to overcome since it is foremost a mental addiction. For my case, I was too ashamed to seek help and had to face my demon alone without any support group, friends, or family. You know you’re on your way to kick the habit when you refuse to take a hit even in your dreams when you’re sleeping. You know you have kicked the habit when you no longer have any dreams about coke for over a decade. My advice to you Tatum, is to destroy your ATM and Credit Cards immediately, get rid of your dealers phone number (burn bridges), and most importantly be honest to yourself and explore what goes on in your emotional mind.

I hope she gets her life together. She is a talented actress but she is on the path to nowhere. Tatum think of your kids. I read her book & she went through some hell. I know so have a lot of others but she needs support & compassion to conquer her demons. What a sad situation.

omg...i am a recovering addict and i cant believe what you guys are saying...ya she may be famous and great talent and a mother and all that but DAMN!! that is NO excuse for doing drugs!!! come on already...some people win and some people lose...why do we always have to blow people's lives out of proportion...

guess what? i had a GREAT childhood and i still ended up being a drug addict...so those of you who are saying its because of her hard childhood blah blah blah...you need to shove some cotton in ur mouth and SHUT UP!!

I feel bad for Tatum. It is very difficult to overcome a background like she had. That does a lot of damage.

i feel bad if the story is true... sometimes all the details are not true. so., if she is using drugs again.,, i would pray for her to get help , again... being in the spotlight isent all it seems., i think the picture you show of her is not bad., she is a pretty girl.. like britney, and robert downey jr, and the list goes on and on.... the early fame is a big factor. i hope she gets the help she needs., saw her on a few talk shows., she seems like a very nice person., take care tatum...

I cannot beleive how insensitive all of your comments are. I read her book and she really had a sad childhood. I think that you people hate celebreties and secretly wish them all to somehow fall. To bad for her. I hope she doesn't end up like Anna Nichole Smith. Tatum O'Neal does have talent. So sad that we missed seeing it all these years. Remember she won an Oscar!!
