A critic says the "pin-skinny" star makes "beating a guy to the ground look so easy"

The same New York Times critic who dissed the Sex and the City movie digs Angelina Jolie in the new action thriller Wanted.

"Ms. Jolie has been perfectly cast as a super-scary, seemingly amoral assassin named (wait for it) Fox," Manohla Dargis writes.

"Few American actresses, especially those with such pin-skinny arms, can make beating a guy to the ground look so easy and, yeah, man, like fun," the critics adds.

"With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats."

(James McAvoy echoed Dargis' sentiment. He recently told Usmagaizne.com that his co-star is "brilliant" in the movie and that Jolie "is so at home" in action roles.)

Dargis wasn't as enthused about the film, however, saying it was merely "a couple of ideas recycled from The Matrix and Fight Club.

The pregnant-with-twins star, 32, strips down in the trailer for her new thriller Wanted (out June 27).

In one scene, co-star James McAvoy asks: "Are we going to bond now?"

Responds Jolie: "Would you like to?" as a camera flashes to her bare backside as she wraps a towel around herself.

Hills' Audrina Patridge Lands a Movie Role

She confirms she'll play "the girlfriend of this cocky guy" in her film debut

Coming soon to a theater near you: Audrina Patridge.

The Hills star, 22, confirmed on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Thursday that she landed a part in an upcoming film.

"I go next week to film it," she said, adding, "I don't know how much I'm allowed to say!"

Patridge said she'll play "the girlfriend of this cocky guy who think he's the s--t ... and I kind of have him wrapped around my fingers.

"It's cool," she added, "because on The Hills, I don't have that."

The role is "giving me the chance to show people [what I can do]," said Patridge, who recently canned her agent for not getting her enough gigs. "This is why I moved to L.A."

It's not Patridge's only project: She just began shooting the fourth season of The Hills, which debuts in August with 19 new episodes.

"The drama is still unfolding," she promised.

She dismissed talk of any tension between her and Lauren Conrad. (On Monday's episode, Patridge felt shut out by Lauren's close friendship with Lauren "Lo" Bosworth.)

"It's not like, 'Boo hoo, feel bad for Audrina,'" she said. "Sometimes on the show, things come across differently." (See Audrina's baby photo here.)

She said she and Lauren address the rift on Monday's season finale.

She added that Lauren wasn't so thrilled about her renewed friendship with Montag.

"Lauren is very big on you-know-what-you-did," Patridge said. "I looked at the whole [sex tape] situation. It's none of my business. I am the neutral one on the show — I can't fight other people's battles."

The flick centers on a high school virgin who fears she'll land in the football team's "bang book"

Kristin Cavallari is headed back to work.

The Laguna Beach alum will appear in the indie Wild Cherry, co-starring Rob Schneider and Rumer Willis.

The ensemble comedy centers around a high school senior who plans to lose her virginity to her football player boyfriend, according to Variety.

She soon finds out that her beau only wants to sleep with her so he can include her in the football team's "bang book."

Outraged, she and her pals decide to plot revenge.

The flick begins filming in Winnipeg, Canada, on May 7.

She will headline most of the movies, adapted from books and real-life stories

For reel: Jennifer Aniston's got her own film company.

The actress, 39, and producing partner Kristin Hahn have formed Echo Films, according to Variety.

Variety reports that the two have already lined up several projects, most of which will star Aniston and will be taken from books and real-life stories.

Among them:

They've acquired screen rights to Jane Fallon's British bestseller Getting Rid of Matthew about a high-level publicist who has an affair with a married man with kids, only to fall for the man's son.

They're also adapting the novel The Divorce Party about a husband and wife who announce they're splitting at a bash celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary.

Aniston will also headline The Goree Girls, based on a Texas Monthly article about a falsely convicted woman who starts one of America's first all-female bands.

"We're drawn to stories about people finding their voice and finding their way because they help us as listeners and viewers do what we feel we're all trying to do, which is making sense of our lives through the stories of others," Aniston said in a statement. "That's why we chose the name Echo, to echo back an idea, a challenge, something that resonates through all of us."

Aniston and Hahn (an executive producer on The Departed) have been working together since Aniston was a partner with ex Brad Pitt in the production company Plan B.

Aniston is currently shooting the Owen Wilson comedy Marley & Me.

Though the fantasy film knocked Enchanted to No. 2, it raked in less than expected at the box office

Families flocked to see Nicole Kidman's The Golden Compass this weekend, tallying up $26.1 million at the box office — enough to topple Enchanted but not enough to meet expectations. (It had been hoped to rake in between $30 and $40 million, Variety reported.)

Enchanted, which had ranked first for the past two weekends, reaped an additional $10.7 million this weekend in the No. 2 spot.

Rounding out the top five:
• This Christmas, $5 million
• Fred Claus, $4.7 million
• Beowulf, $4.4 million

Katherine Heigl is clarifying comments she made in the January issue of Vanity Fair about her recent hit comedy Knocked Up.

“It was a little sexist,” the Grey’s Anatomy star, 29, told the magazine, adding: “It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as goofy, fun-loving guys...It was hard for me to love the movie.”

Now Heigl is speaking out again -- this time, to explain better what she meant.

"It's important to me to take a minute and clarify the quote about Knocked Up in Vanity Fair," Heigl tells Usmagazine.com. "I was responding to previous reviews about the movie the interviewer brought to my attention. My motive was to encourage other women like myself to not take that element of the movie too seriously and to remember that it's a broad comedy."

Heigl adds, "Although I stand behind my opinion, I'm disheartened that it has become the focus of my experience with the movie. The truth is, it was the best filming experience of my career. Every person that was a part of making Knocked Up helped to encourage, support and inspire me. I never intended for anyone to think otherwise."

Pitt could face legal trouble after dropping out of the drama

Universal Pictures is scrambling to replace Brad Pitt in the drama State of Play after the actor unexpectedly dropped out November 21.

The latest candidate: Russell Crowe, who could sign on to play the role of a political operative as early as this week, Variety reports.

Pitt better hope so.

Universal could sue the actor — who violated a pay-or-play commitment when he quit over script disagreements — if the recasting process takes too long and forces other costars — including Edward Norton and Rachel McAdams — to also drop out.
