Johnny Depp nabbed two honors and Tom Cruise presented the achievement award

Ellen Page won Best Female Performance (for Juno), Will Smith nabbed Best Male Performance (for I Am Legend) and Zac Efron scored the Breakthrough Performance (for Hairspray) at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night.

Johnny Depp won two awards: Best Comedic Performance (for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) and Best Villain (for Sweeney Todd). He beat out pregnant Angelina Jolie (Beowulf) for Best Villain.

Transformers was named the Best Movie.

Tom Cruise – who hosted a star-studded housewarming party Saturday night – showed up to present the MTV Generation achievement award to Adam Sandler.

"The man, the icon, the legend," Cruise said before Sandler performed his own version of "Nobody Does It Better."

Love Guru star Mike Myers hosted the awards.

Juno, Superbad and Pirates of the Caribbean are up for Best Movie

Superbad and Juno lead the nominations for the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, the network announced Tuesday.

The films will vie with Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, I Am Legend and National Treasure: Book of Secrets for Best Movie.

Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up), Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), Jessica Biel (I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry), Ellen Page (Juno) and Amy Adams (Enchanted) are up for Best Female Performance.

Pregnant Angelina Jolie is up for Best Villain for Beowulf against Johnny Depp (Sweeney Todd), Denzel Washington (American Gangster), Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3) and Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men)

The awards, hosted by Mike Myers, will air live on June 1.

Ellen Philpotts-Page was born in 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Academy Award-nominated actress grew up a tomboy, spending her time climbing trees and playing with action figures. Although her personality never fit the stereotype of an aspiring actress, she is now considered to be among the most promising stars under 30. After appearing in several small Canadian films and television series, Page received critical acclaim for her endearing performance as a pregnant teen in the hit 2007 film Juno. She acted alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Dennis Quaid in the 2008 comedic drama, Smart People. Although there are rumors that the young talent is gay, she has never confirmed these reports, and even poked fun at these rumors when she hosted Saturday Night Live in 2008.
