Jamie Lynn Spears' cousin Alli Sims says the 17-year-old will make a great mom to daughter Maddie.

"I'm sure the baby's beautiful, and I'm so glad everybody's healthy and doing well," Sims told Usmagazine.com at an after-party for Wanted in Los Angeles on Thursday.

"I just wish them all the happiness in the world," she said. "I know they're going to have so much fun."

Sims — who said she is still "great friends" with Britney (who's recording a new album) — added that she plans on sending "something cute.

"I'm sure they're doing great," she told Us. "I know they're just so excited."

Maddie was born Thursday at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi.

She weighed 7 lbs., 11 ounces.

Mark Wahlberg and longtime love Rhea Durham are thrilled they're expecting a boy.

Their 4-year-old daughter Ella?

Not so much.

"My daughter was extremely disappointed when she found out that we were having a boy — she wanted a little sister," he told Usmagazine.com at the NYC premiere of The Happening Tuesday.

"She already had all these plans of dressing a little sister up in clothes," he said. "But I told her, 'Honey, that means you’ll be more spoiled than the boys.' She goes, 'Oh, daddy, I didn’t think of that!'"

He said he is already prepping for the new one (they also have a son, Michael, 2).

"I’m moving the office out of the house [to] prepare his room," Wahlberg told Us.

He added that he is now trying to do more family friendly films, including his latest, M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening (out Friday).

"This is a movie that my nieces and nephews can watch," he said. "I’ve done things that I’m not proud of, and that I’m going to have to explain," he added.

Such as?

"Running around in my underwear," he said.

Co-star Zooey Deschanel said Wahlberg will make a "great" father-of-three.

"He’s wonderful with children, and he loves his children so much," she told Us. "He talks about them all the time."

He and his model-girlfriend welcomed a girl in April

Vin Diesel and his girlfriend, model Paloma Jimenez, have welcomed a baby girl, his rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.

She was born in April.

No other details were available.

Diesel, 40, once said shooting the 2005 family comedy The Pacifier made him want to have kids.

"What’s interesting about this project was I was giving up a year of my life, but the thing that stood out above and beyond all the experiences was this relationship with the nine-month-old baby," he has said of filming.

Diesel — who will star in the August action thriller Babylon A.D. — is currently shooting Fast and Furious, due out June 2009.

He is urging parents to "hold on to your kids ... show them you love them"

Xzibit is mourning the loss of his two-week-old son Xavier Kingston Joiner.

The rapper, 33, blogged the news on his MySpace page at 4:32 a.m. Monday — an hour after his son passed - under the headline "I have some bad news."

He said his son (who arrived May 15) was born prematurely and it became extremely "difficult for him [to breathe] because his lungs were not strong enough to handle regular oxygen on his own.

"I must tell you," the rapper went on, "it is [unnatural] for a parent to bury a child."

He told parents "life is too short" and urged them to "hold on to your kids if you have them, protect them and show them you love them everyday you wake up.

"You can have all the material wealth in the universe, but it is NOTHING compared to having your family," the rapper wrote. "I am thankful for all of my blessings and [I'm] not one to question God's perfect plan, so I leave you with great love...."

He signed off: "R.I.P Xavier May 15th 2008 - May 26th 2008"

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt celebrates her birthday today. (See photos of Shiloh's life.)

She was born May 27, 2006, in Namibia, Africa.

"Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born," mom Angelina Jolie has said. (Mom also caused controversy for calling Shiloh a "blob")

Following in her parents' glamorous footsteps, Shiloh filmed a small spot in her dad's upcoming flick The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at just 10 months old. (See photos of how she resembles Brad Pitt.)

"She is stunning... just like Angie," a pal told Us. "You can't believe she's not a doll."

Like her famous folks, Shiloh is already a globetrotter, having traveled to India, New Orleans and Cambodia.

She is currently in Cannes, France, where the pregnant-with-twins Jolie has hinted she may give birth.

Luckily, Shiloh won't have a problem burbling out the language.

"[French is] a second language in the house, although I'm still learning and am not going to attempt any of it here today," Jolie said on May 15. "My children are starting to speak French, so being here is very good for them and their language."

The pregnant star denies reports that musician Craig Zolezzi is the father

Mom-to-be Minnie Driver is shooting down reports that San Francisco musician Craig Zolezzi is the father of her baby.

"Craig's not the dad!" she told U.K.'s Independent newspaper on Thursday. "He's my great friend, and he's been so cool about it."

The Brit, 38, wouldn't reveal the father's identity, but hinted he's English and "sort of in the same business ... he's really busy, like me."

Why so secretive?

"I want to shield the baby's dad as much as I can because it wasn't his choice to get roped into all this stuff," said Driver, who noted the pregnancy was "unplanned" but "very happily received."

His name will "come out in time and there'll be some other bump people will be interested in, and I'll have this baby and get on with my life."

Asked if they'd wed, she replied, "Definitely not in the near future.

"It's not important to me," she went on. "I don't think a piece of paper lends itself to the idea of being a good parent."

She said she is uncertain if she'll have her baby in the U.S. or England. "A big part of me wants my child to be English," she said. "My family are here, and I'm sure I'll move back here one day. It's just that my work, and the opportunities I've had, have been so varied and wonderful in the States that I've just followed my nose really."

Driver told Usmagazine.com she is due in August.

She signs on for a new psychological drama

New mom Halle Berry is heading back to work.

Weeks after welcoming daughter Nahla, she has signed on to star in and produce the psychological drama Frankie and Alice, Variety reports.

And she isn't diving into a light-hearted fluff flick, either.

The indie is about a young woman struggling with multiple personality disorder; she is torn between who she is and a racist Caucasian alter-personality that haunts her mind, according to Variety.

Berry is already trying to achieve her post-baby bod.

She plans to make an appearance at the Halle Berry Celebrity Golf Classic on April 27.

"She wants to back in fit form for the tournament," a source told Us of the weekend-long affair (which benefits the Jenesse Center's work for victimized women and children).

Surely, it will be tough for Berry to leave her newborn.

"Halle loves being a mom," the source added. "She is so happy."

Former Full House star Jodie Sweetin "is doing great" after welcoming daughter Zoie on Saturday, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

The actress, 26, and her husband, set designer Cody Herpin, are "absolutely thrilled and in love" with the baby, who weighed 8 lbs., 7 oz.

When it came to naming her girl, Sweetin told Us she wanted "something different, something cute and girly, but not too girly – a little funky."

Sweetin told Us she couldn't have gotten through her pregnancy without her husband, 30, whom she wed last July.

"He goes and gets me all my little cravings, like my frozen chicken pot pies, and he cooks dinner for me and cleans up the house because I’m exhausted all the time!" she told Us during her pregnancy. (See other stars' bumps here.)

Sweetin, a former meth addict, hopes to impart the lessons she's learned in life on her new daughter.

"I had to learn to just be comfortable in my own skin," she told Us. "So I hope she’ll learn that a little bit sooner.

"To just be yourself ... that was probably the hardest thing for me that I didn’t learn until I was in my early twenties."

Actress Cate Blanchett and her husband, playwright Andrew Upton, welcomed their third son in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Ignatius Martin Upton weighed 8 lbs., 6 oz.

Blanchett, 38, and Upton, 41, wed in 1997. They have two sons, Dashiell, 6, and Roman, 3.

Blanchett revealed that she was expecting at the premiere of Elizabeth: The Golden Age last November in Sydney.

“I do love being pregnant," the Oscar-winner told Australia's Herald Sun last year before announcing her big news. "But it isn't something that we plot and plan the time to do.

"You have to look at how having another child will affect the kids you do have and adore," she added. "But if it happens, it would be fantastic."

Actress Melissa Joan Hart showed off her 3-week-old son, Braydon, Wednesday.

The two hit the Hot Mom's Handbook bash at the Pea in the Pod store in Beverly Hills.

Hart and husband, musician Mark Wilkerson, welcomed the boy March 12.

"Take my word for it - he’s adorable!" she recently blogged on her MySpace page.

She said he "looks exactly like Mason," her 2-year-old son.

"Mason is a perfect big brother," Hart said. "He’s loving, gives Brady lots of kisses and tries to help me out."
