- Star Jones told Usmagazine.com exclusively that Barbara Walters' claim that Jones forced her to lie about her gastric bypass surgery on The View "speaks true to her character."Added Jones, "It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book." When asked if the singer would be a great mother, friend Tyler Perry told Us:"Absolutely!"

- Britney Spears was granted extended visitation rights for her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. She also surprised Rock The Cradle contestants by showing up for the season finale Thursday night. "The long distance relationship wasn't working," he tells Us

Bachelor Andy Baldwin and his girlfriend Marla Maples have called it quits, he tells Usmagazine.com.

Baldwin's recent move to Washington, D.C. to take a job as an advocate for Navy Medicine put a strain on their relationship, he tells Us.

"The big move coupled with the long distance relationship wasn't working for us so I decided we were better off as friends," Baldwin says.

He first broke the news to the Washington Post. "We were friends, it got romantic for a little while, but we're just friends," he told the paper.

Baldwin, 31, and Maples, 44, met last year and spent New Year's together. They recently celebrated Easter in Hawaii.

"He's just a good soul," Maples told Us in April. "He's an absolute, complete gentleman."

A source close to Baldwin told Us, “He is inspired by her.”

Baldwin was briefly engaged to Tessa Horst, who won the final rose on The Bachelor.

"He's just a good soul," she tells Us of her new beau

Marla Maples and Andy Baldwin aren't letting their age gap hold them back: the two had a fun time on Laguna Beach Tuesday, frolicking and making out on the rocks.

"He is the most compassionate man I've ever met," Maples tells Usmagazine.com.

Maples, 44, and the former Bachelor, 31, also played with a beach ball.

"He's just a good soul," Maples, an ex of Donald Trump, told Us. "He's an absolute, complete gentleman."

Their new relationship is usually long-distance since Baldwin, a naval doctor, is stationed in Hawaii, where the two took a romantic getaway over Easter.

"They're moving him to D.C. soon," Maples said. "He still has four more years in military!"

They have been "quietly dating" since last year, a source tells Us

Former Bachelor Andy Baldwin didn’t need the hit ABC show to find his future mate.

Since returning from a military mission in Palau, the naval doctor, 31, has been “quietly dating” Donald Trump’s ex, Marla Maples, 44.

The two took a romantic getaway to the Hawaiian island of Lanai over Easter weekend, a source tells Usmagazine.com.

"On Easter morning, Andy and Marla helped kids at [their Four Seasons Hotel] search for Easter eggs and they had a great time," the source says.

They first met last year, says the source, and even spent New Year’s together.

Adds the insider, “He is inspired by her.”

Naval doctor Andy Baldwin first earned a place in fans’ hearts as last spring’s chosen Bachelor on ABC, but now he’s winning over a whole new set of fans: those affected by his recent JPAC military mission in Palau.

Now home in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, after a two-month stay in Palau as part of an underwater excavation team, Baldwin, 31, opens up exclusively to Us about his assignment.

Usmagazine.com: Recent reports have placed you everywhere from Fiji to the Middle East. But where in the world was Lt. Andy Baldwin?
Andy Baldwin: I've been offshore near Palau in the South Pacific on an underwater recovery diving mission. [A group of Navy divers and I completed an] underwater excavation of a crash site of a B-24 Bomber that was shot down in 1944 and had been missing for over 60 years. Eleven servicemen are unaccounted for from the incident. Our team was down there for 47 days diving and searching for remains of 11 unaccounted for servicemen associated with the crash. I was so impressed and honored to be a part of this team. I want to emphasize that I was just another person on this team – no better or worse than any other.

Us: Were you successful?
AB: Yes. Remains and personal effects have been transported back to Hawaii for further evaluation and possible identification. Hopefully we'll be able to give tremendous closure to some families whose relatives have been missing for all these years. Being a part of this mission was incredibly rewarding and meaningful. It's a tribute to the U.S. Military's commitment that no one will be left behind and we'll go to every extent possible to bring our guys home. Many days we would be waterlogged, tired, sifting through sediment and coral, and come out with nothing. But we had to keep going remembering that each time we found some remains, it had incredible meaning for that person's loved ones and providing them with closure. A little bit goes a long way.

Us: How has this mission changed you?
AB: It gave me an even higher sense of pride and appreciation for the military's conviction and commitment to bringing all of our guys home and never leaving a man behind. It gives me that extra peace of mind and it should for every American out there – that if you or one of your loved ones goes missing or is taken a prisoner of war, the U.S. will go to the greatest lengths to locate them and bring them home.

Us: What’s next for you?
AB: Right now I'm home and back working at Pearl Harbor as head of the medical department at Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit ONE. I'm awaiting orders to my next duty station and anticipating that it's going to be as an advocate for Navy medicine in Washington, D.C. We count on our nation's military physicians to provide outstanding health care to our servicemen and women and their families. We need good health care professionals in the military and it is crucial to identify the young leaders and talented minds out there who can fill these roles. I am proud to be a Navy physician and can speak to the incredibly rewarding experiences a career in the military can offer.

Last season’s bachelor, Andy Baldwin, has split from his fiancée, Tessa Horst, and they won’t have much time for reconciliation.

His rep confirms that the Naval doctor, 30, will be deployed to Iraq for six to 12 months!

“He leaves in January,” the rep tells Us. Did his assignment lead to the breakup? A Baldwin pal says that while long-distance love was already proving difficult (he’s in Hawaii, she’s in San Francisco), the news he was going abroad “was a factor.”

He's not a prince, heir to a tire company's fortune or a football player like the men who came before him, but Andy Baldwin, ABC's latest Bachelor, proved to be a knight in shining armor as he got down on bended knee to offer a 2-carat diamond to his leading lady on last night's finale of the reality series.

During a press tour to celebrate their love, Baldwin - a Naval doctor - and his beauty, social worker Tessa Horst, 26, spoke with Usmagazine.com about what they’ve learned since the show and plans for a Hawaiian homecoming.

Usmagazine.com: Congratulations! You both must be so thrilled after having to keep your relationship a secret since the show wrapped in March. What do you have planned now that America knows that you are in love and engaged?
Andy Baldwin: We’ve been walking around New York and I’ve been screaming it at the top of my lungs! It’s not a secret any longer! We finished the show two months ago and to have to watch it all over again and it’s been really hard– especially on Tessa – to have all that drudged up.
Tessa Horst: It’s a huge relief to have it over. It’s been great moving forward with Andy since the show’s been wrapping, but it was hard that everyone around us was watching it as if it was present. We’re really excited to move forward from here.

Usmagagazine.com: You no doubt learned quite a bit about each other during the course of the show, but what have you learned about each other since?
AB: We’ve learned a lot! [Laughs] We’ve seen each other four times and talked to each other over the phone [while the show was airing]. We’ve definitely commented how much better we know each other now than we did at the end of the show. The risk we took in getting engaged is getting better and better. There are some things that Tessa has found out about me…
TH: Andy snores! [Laughs] He wakes up at 5 a.m. every morning – as if that’s a normal time to get up and start your day!
AB: Tessa’s a good cook! [Pause] And she sweats a lot from her armpits! [Laughs]

Usmagazine.com: Andy, last time we spoke, you told me you were anxious to find a new workout buddy to jog and watch Hawaiian sunsets with. Have you been home to Hawaii yet?
AB: I was back at home in Hawaii the day we finished filming and back to work the next day in my uniform taking care of my guys. I’ve done a few media trips back and forth, but I’m really excited to welcome Tessa back. We’re going home this Friday for Memorial Day weekend and plan to give her a big aloha welcome!

Usmagazine.com: Lastly, what will make your reality TV romance work when previous reality couples’ romances fizzled?
AB: We’ve found true love. We’re real people and that’s what it comes down to. We’re very optimistic and more in love now than ever – that’s such a great feeling!
TH: We were realistic going through the process and there were few surprises. I felt by the time the show wrapped that I knew who Andy was and he knew who I was. That wasn’t going to change.
