The singer is being questioned by police about alleged drug use

British singer Amy Winehouse has been arrested and is being questioned at a police station in east London about alleged drug use, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

"Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment," her rep said in a statement. "She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is co-operating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year."

"[She] was arrested in connection with the alleged possession of a controlled drug," a rep for Scotland Yard told Us.

Winehouse, 24, is to be questioned about a video obtained by The Sun newspaper in January. Footage shows her allegedly inhaling crack cocaine.

The singer also went to rehab that month.

In April, Winehouse spent a night in jail on a common assault charge.

CSI's Gary Dourdan Slapped With Three Felony Drug Charges

CSI star Gary Dourdan has formally been charged with drug possession, according to documents obtained by Usmagazine.com from California's Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.

He was charged with felony possession of heroin, cocaine and ecstasy.

Police arrested Dourdan, 41, after they found him asleep in his car, which was parked on the wrong side of the road, in Palm Springs, Calif., in the early morning hours on April 28. After searching his vehicle, they confiscated the drugs.

In an e-mail with Access Hollywood, he denied the drugs belonged to him.

"I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative," Dourdan said. "I've been happy to cooperate in any way to clear myself and go on with my blessed life."

He is to be arraigned May 28.

CSI star Gary Dourdan claims the drugs he was caught with earlier this week didn't belong to him.

The actor, 41, was arrested for drug possession early Monday in Palm Springs, Calif., after police found him asleep in his car, which was parked on the wrong side of the road. When officers searched his vehicle, they found cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and other prescription drugs.

Dourdan says he was returning from the Coachella Music Festival, where he got some people into a V.I.P. section. An after-party left him "ragged," he said, so he pulled over to sleep.

"I’m glad pulling over did prevent a DUI," he said in an e-mail to Access Hollywood. "I recommend not driving at all, but a little kip [nap] is always good (on either side of the road LOL).

"I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative," Dourdan continued. "I've been happy to cooperate in any way to clear myself and go on with my blessed life."

Dourdan -- who is not returning to CSI next season -- also apologized to his fans. (He was set to present Taylor Swift with an award at Hollywood Life magazine’s 10th Annual Young Hollywood Awards last week, as CSI is one of her favorite shows.)

"I am so sorry to all my fans, especially the young ones, like Taylor Swift, who I should've been supporting with my daughter instead of driving tired in the desert," he said.

"I am planning events to get the word out that you don’t need a bunch of nasty chemicals to have a good time," he added. "Just good friends, family, good music and a good honest spirit full of faith."

He is to be arraigned May 28.

International reporter Richard Quest was charged with drug possession Friday

CNN Anchor Richard Quest was arrested early Friday for drug possession.

Police initially stopped Quest, 46, in NYC's Central Park for violating the park's curfew. He was busted around 3:40 a.m. when police found a small bag of methamphetamine in his pocket, The New York Times reports.

"I've got some meth in my pocket," he confessed to police, according to the complaint obtained by The Times.

Quest was arraigned Friday afternoon in Manhattan Criminal Court on a misdemeanor charge of possessing methamphetamine and on a charge of loitering.

After negotiating with the Manhattan district attorney’s office, he agreed to six months of counseling if the judge drops the charge, providing Quest's therapy is successful The Times reports.

The British journalist - who attends the World Economic Forum in Switzerland each year - is best known for CNN's late-night international programming. He also hosts his own hourlong show, Quest.

A coroner began an inquest into the death of saxophonist Jason Rae on Thursday

The husband of singer Corinne Bailey Rae died from a suspected drug overdose, a coroner heard Thursday at an inquest into the death of saxophonist Jason Rae.

Deputy Assistant Coroner Roger Chapman said a pathologist's report pointed to the "overdose" but that further tests were needed, BBC News reports.

There were no signs of trauma or violence, Detective Superintendent Steve Payne also stated at the hearing at Leeds Coroner's Court in England.

The body of Rae, 31, was found in a flat in Leeds on Saturday.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs in connection to the case, police said, but he has since been released on bail.

Bizarre new footage of the Jackass star appears on YouTube days after he's hospitalized

Jackass star Steve-O appears under the influence in a new YouTube video posted days after he was hospitalized in a psych ward and charged with cocaine possession.

"You'd think all the time in prison would've taught me something," he tells the camera before erupting into a hysterical laughter. "I'm dead sober, you see!"

He then starts to juggle fruit for the camera before going off on the war in the Middle East. "Everybody's thinking about themselves!" he says.

Later, he cryptically asks, "Who cares when you die?"

The video prompted blogger Perez Hilton to write: "Notice the mysterious white powder in his nose. It's honestly INSANE."

News broke yesterday that Steve-O, 33 — who once dated Nicole Richie — has been charged with felony possession of cocaine.

The charge stems from a March 3 arrest for investigation of vandalism and possession of a controlled substance at his Hollywood home.

TMZ.com also reported that Steve-O was hospitalized at a mental health unit of L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last Sunday.

A rep for Steve-O had no comment yesterday when contacted by Usmagazine.com.

Los Angeles DA charged Mischa Barton on Tuesday with four misdemeanor counts, including driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, according to court documents. She was also charged with driving with blood alcohol levels exceeding the legal limit, driving unlicensed and for possession of marijuana.

She was arrested Dec. 27 on suspicion of DUI in West Hollywood after Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies witnessed the car she was driving straddle two lanes of traffic. She also failed to signal when making a turn, sheriff deputies reported.

Over Memorial Day weekend in 2007, Barton was rushed to the hospital after mixing antibiotics and a "s—tload" of alcohol. Her younger sister, Hania, entered rehab earlier that year at the age of 19 for addiction to painkillers.

Investigation Reveals How Hospital Gave Dennis Quaid's Babies an Overdose

Cedars-Sinai admits nurses and pharmacists failed to follow hospital policies and apologizes for the error

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Tuesday revealed just went wrong on Nov. 18 when three patients, including Dennis Quaid's infant twins, were given a near-fatal overdose of the anti-clotting drug Heparin.

"The medical center’s investigation found that preventable errors made by pharmacy and nursing staff caused the wrong concentration of heparin to be used," the hospital said in a statement.

"A pharmacy technician failed to follow hospital policy of having another pharmacy technician verify the medication and concentration prior to removing it from main pharmacy inventory. As a result, the technician mistakenly retrieved a higher concentration of heparin (10,000 units per milliliter) instead of the lower-concentration heparin (10 units per milliliter) used for flushing IV catheters.

"The higher concentration heparin was delivered to the satellite pharmacy that serves the pediatrics unit. A second pharmacy technician, working in the satellite pharmacy, did not verify the concentration of the delivery from the main pharmacy, as required by hospital policy."

The hospital's press release comes on the same day that Quaid filed a lawsuit against Chicago-based Baxter Healthcare Corp., maker of Heparin.

Quaid, who has not sued Cedars-Sinai, is suing the drug company because he wants to prevent it from happening to any other children. Quaid's attorney said three children died in Indiana from a similar mix-up with the drug.

Without naming Quaid's babies, Zoe Grace and Thomas Boone (who are now back home), the hospital said that "two patients were given protamine sulfate, a drug that reverses the effects of heparin and helps restore blood clotting function to normal. Additional medical tests and clinical evaluation conducted on the two patients found no adverse effects from the heparin or from the temporary abnormal clotting function."

“Although this was a rare event, and attributable to human error, it is also an important opportunity for the entire institution to explore any and all ways we can further improve medication safety,” said Michael L. Langberg, M.D., chief medical officer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

“On behalf of the medical center, I extend my deepest apologies to the families who were affected by this situation, and we will continue to work with them on any concerns or questions they may have. This was a preventable error, involving a failure to follow our standard policies and procedures, and there is no excuse for that to occur at Cedars-Sinai,” Langberg said.

The hospital said that all employees involved in the accidental overdoses have been "relieved of duty pending investigation, and appropriate disciplinary actions are being taken."

Oh, no, no, no: Amy Winehouse got a late night visit from troubled Brit rocker Pete Doherty.

Doherty, 28, popped by her new East London home around 4 a.m. Tuesday, London’s Daily Mail reports.

The “Rehab” singer, 24 — who recently called off her tour to support her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil — had moved into the new digs earlier that day before Doherty showed up, clutching a guitar.

According to the Mail, they are collaborating on a duet called, “You Hurt The Ones You Love.”

Two days before their early morning meeting, a distressed Winehouse — her trademark bee-hive undone — stumbled barefoot in just jeans and a bra at 5:40 a.m. “Amy had been asleep and heard a noise,” her rep said in a statement. “She went outside to investigate. She didn’t realize the time.”

Though Doherty recently told Us he was off drugs, his rep said he had relapsed in November.

Photographers snapped a package of Provigil, a prescription drug used to treat excessive daytime sleepiness (and narcolepsy), in Britney Spears' open purse as she made her way to her first co-parenting class with Kevin Federline Wednesday at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

“Unlike a traditional stimulant with side effects such as hyperactivity and inattentiveness, the primary effect of this medication is only to help keep you from falling asleep,” Dr. Mark Milstein, a New York neurologist, tells Usmagazine.com. “Somebody who is living a celebrity lifestyle, who frequently has to be up very early one day and then very late the next, could develop very disordered sleep patterns”

Provigil cannot be abused as a drug, the doctor says. Spears is currently under court order to take two random drug tests per week.

“This medication won’t give you a ‘high,’ like a stimulant would,” Dr. Milstein adds.
