During the same week Jamie Lynn Spears, 17, gave birth to daughter Maddie, Time magazine reported that 17 high school students - all under the age of 16-years-old - in Gloucester Massachusetts, were pregnant after making a pact to have babies together.

"Some girls seemed more upset when they weren't pregnant than when they were," Gloucester High School principal Joseph Sullivan revealed to Time.

(Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk told the Boston Herald, "The information from the principal has not been verified by any other source.”)

Many media outlets have since dubbed the rash of teen pregnancies the "Juno Effect," referencing the Oscar nominated film starring Ellen Page and Bateman.

“I don’t know the specifics, but I can speak about what sort of responsibility entertainment should hold for social behavior,” Bateman told Access Hollywood Tuesday.

“Unfortunately, we’ve had these instances where guys kill people because of what they hear in rock ‘n roll lyrics or some garbage like that. Look, if you’re going to blame a movie or song for your actions, whether they be good or bad, I think you’re looking at the wrong things to influence your life.”

Bateman continued, “I think people should look to other areas of their life for lessons and guidance, mainly parents, or teachers, or friends, or whomever. That should probably be where you should point your eyes and ears.”

Jamie Lynn Spears' former All That co-star Adrienne Bailon says newborn Maddie Briann is in good hands.

"She has really grown up — I pray many blessings on her and the new baby," Bailon (who is in The Cheetah Girls) told Usmagazine.com at the L.A. premiere of Wall-E Saturday. "I wish her the best. Her mom is the sweetest woman. A baby is always a joy!"

Maddie — who was born Thursday — weighed 7 lbs., 11 ounces. She's the first child for the former Zoey 101 star, 17, and fiancé Casey Aldridge, 19, a pipe layer.

On Saturday, Spears left the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi, two days after giving birth.

Bailon, 24, said she is no rush for mommyhood.

"100 percent, I will be married when I have my first child," she told Us. "I know that is a pretty big statement, but my mom would murder me. I come from a super religious family."

An expert says the young mom is glamorizing teen pregnancy

Jamie Lynn Spears, 17, and fiancé Casey Aldridge, 19, became part of a growing teen pregnancy trend when they welcomed daughter Maddie Briann on Thursday.

"Teen birth rate had been going down but last year for the first time in 15 years it went up," Sarah Brown, CEO of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, tells Usmagazine.com.

"Regular girls see photos of Jamie Lynn's bump and think they too are guaranteed a designer baby shower and designer nursery," Brown tells Us. "But the reality is their babies aren't born in Hollywood."

Brown warns that Hollywood glamour doesn't communicate reality.

"Babies are exhausting and expensive, and the boyfriend that pledged he would stay with you almost always leaves," she says.

Jamie Lynn Spears left the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi Saturday two days after giving birth.

The 17-year-old was driven out of the hospital by 19-year-old fiance Casey Aldridge in a white Range Rover at 1:40 a.m. She was in the back seat surrounded by a white sheet. The couple received a police escort.

Maddie – born Thursday weighing 7 lbs., 11 ounces – is the first child for the Zoey 101 star and Aldridge, a pipe layer.

Cops had to respond to a scuffle between a photog and a member of the singer's entourage

Britney Spears arrived at L.A.'s LAX airport Friday to a chaotic scene involving over 30 paparazzi. At one point, police intervened to quell a scuffle between a photographer and one of the singer's entourage.

Both the photographer and the entourage member (who would not say whether he was a bodyguard) were treated for minor injuries. Neither ended up filing charges.

Spears, 26, and her father Jamie were unharmed.

"Britney's security was not equipped to handle the situation," an eyewitness told Usmagazine.com. "It was mass chaos with photographers standing on the escalator with Britney and she literally had nowhere to go. Her bodyguards had no idea what to do."

Spears and her father were returning from their hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, where her younger sister Jamie Lynn gave birth to a daughter, Maddie Briann, on Thursday.

Britney Spears has a tearful goodbye with her family as she left her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana the day after younger sister Jamie Lynn gives birth to a daughter, Maddie Briann.

Spears, 26, is likely on her way back to her home in Beverly Hills. (The singer is currently at work on a new album, her vocal producer and co-writer Jim Beanz confirmed exclusively to Usmagazine.com.)

Maddie Briann was born Thursday weighing 7 lbs., 11 ounces. She is the first child for Jamie Lynn, 17, and fiance Casey Aldridge.

Producer Jim Beanz tells Us “we never see anything but positives out of her”

Britney Spears is currently at work on an upcoming album, her vocal producer and co-writer Jim Beanz confirms exclusively to Usmagazine.com.

"Britney is amazing," Beanz (recipient of the famed Eurovision Award for his song "Believe") tells Us.

The singer, 26, has had her share of drama, but "we never see anything but positives out of her.

"Everyone has personal stuff, but a true professional doesn't bring it into the studio," adds Beanz, who just opened his own studio, Sunset Entertainment Group, in Bryn Mawr, Pa.

In April, her former manager Larry Rudolph told Us that Spears — who is currently in Kentwood, celebrating sister Jamie Lynn's new baby girl Maddie — had gone into the studio "just for fun."

Added Rudolph, "she is on the right path."

Spears' last album, Blackout, debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The first single "Gimme More" was her most successful single in the U.S. since "...Baby One More Time."

Jamie Lynn Spears' cousin Alli Sims says the 17-year-old will make a great mom to daughter Maddie.

"I'm sure the baby's beautiful, and I'm so glad everybody's healthy and doing well," Sims told Usmagazine.com at an after-party for Wanted in Los Angeles on Thursday.

"I just wish them all the happiness in the world," she said. "I know they're going to have so much fun."

Sims — who said she is still "great friends" with Britney (who's recording a new album) — added that she plans on sending "something cute.

"I'm sure they're doing great," she told Us. "I know they're just so excited."

Maddie was born Thursday at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi.

She weighed 7 lbs., 11 ounces.

A baby name expert tells Us the choice is "surprising"

Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge's decision to name their newborn daughter Maddie Briann is "a surprising choice," baby name expert Pam Satran, coauthor of baby-naming guides Cool Names and The Baby Name Bible, tells Usmagazine.com.

"[Maddie is] cute but nearly old-fashioned at this point," Satran says. "The nickname Maddie has been popular in its own right since the 1980s, when it was the name used by the character played by Cybill Shepherd in Moonlighting."

The name is short for Madeline (the French variation of Magdalen, which is Greek for "high tower) or Madison (of English origin, meaning "son of the mighty warrior"), which was a top name several years ago, Satran explains.

"Both Jamie and Maddie are '80s-style nickname names," Satran adds. "Rather than mother and daughter, they sound like classmates – co-captains of the cheerleading squad!"

As for Maddie's middle name, Briann, Satran reveals its "a modern feminization of Brian, Irish for 'strong.'

Briann, Brian, Brianne and Brianna have been trending downward over the past several years, Satran points out.
