The Hills Gets Renewed for a Fourth Season

Lauren and co. will return in August with 19 new episodes

The Hills are alive on MTV.

The hit reality show is returning for a fourth season, a rep for MTV tells Usmagazine.com exclusively.

The new season will premiere in August with 19 new episodes.

"They just started shooting," an insider tells Us. "The fourth season will be about what they ended up doing this summer. Lauren and Whitney will still be working at People's Revolution."

The Hills' current season ends Monday, May 12, with a pre- and post- show party in the Hollywood Hills (to air live on MTV). Usher and rapper Young Jeezy will perform their hit "Love in This Club."

Fans will also have a chance to quiz the stars, according to a statement.

And, of course, the drama will ensue.

On Monday's episode (watch a recap here), Audrina Patridge felt shut out by Lauren Conrad's close friendship with Lauren "Lo" Bosworth (she even told Justin Bobby she considered moving out).

"Lauren makes a heartfelt attempt to patch things up with Audrina, but it may be too late," the statement reads. "Meanwhile, Spencer fears he's going to lose Heidi forever when he learns she's taking a job in Las Vegas."

Ah, communal living.

New roommates Lauren, Lo, and Audrina are thrilled to move into their new Hollywood digs.

First on the agenda? Throwing a housewarming party!

As they drum up a guest list, Lauren reveals that her high school sweetheart, Stephen Colletti, is in town and plans to attend.

Anxious for the two to get back together, Lo says, "You guys are hanging out again? That melts my little black heart!"

When Audrina mentions that her on-again beau Justin Bobby plans to attend, the room falls silent. "Maybe he will wear his cowboy hat," Lo cracks. Audrina looks visibly uncomfortable.

Fast-forward to the party.

Lauren's face grows sour when ex-fling Brody shows up ... with his new girlfriend Cora. (Lo cracks a joke about how big Cora's boobs look.) Lauren perks up when Stephen arrives and asks her out on a dinner date.

Showing off a new shorter 'do, Justin Bobby also arrives. He and Audrina sneak off to her room to avoid any disapproving looks form Lauren and Lo.

Noticeably absent from the soiree? Stephanie Pratt. She was planning to go, but when she tells Heidi about it, Heidi calls her disloyal. So she stays in with her and watches movies instead.

Later, Lauren and Stephen go on that dinner date. Lauren is unsure if there is still romance between them or if they're just friends.

Stephen makes it clear midway through dinner when he calls their relationship "platonic.”

Slightly disappointed, Lauren returns home and laments to Lo over ice cream. Then, she comes to a realization: Dating Stephen reminds her of being in high school, but she is at a more mature place in her life now.

No Laguna Beach boy caused a stir like Stephen Colletti. On tonight’s episode of The Hills, Lauren Conrad’s (and Kristin Cavallari’s!) beloved ex returns.

In the exclusive clip above, Conrad tells pal and new roomie Lo Bosworth that she and Colletti, her ex from Laguna Beach days, are spending time together again.

"You're hanging out?" Bosworth responds excitedly. "That melts my little black heart."

Sure it makes Bosworth happy, but how does Conrad – who admits she "never stopped" liking Colletti – feel? "It's not a 'thing,'" she explains. "Because when it turns into a 'thing,' then there's a buildup. And I get my hopes up."

Ever the optimist, Bosworth counters: "Then I'll get my hopes up for you!"

"Why don't you like sweet guys?" Ryan Seacrest asked the Hills star on his show this morning.

"They're not as fun!" Conrad, 22, admitted. Pal Lauren "Lo" Bosworth agreed, noting, "Sweet boys can be, like, filler."

Conrad says she's "easily bored" and dating is all "about the chase."

"You want the game to be played," Conrad, 22, says. "You don't want to have a great time and him to call you right after!"

"It's weak to text," Conrad adds.

Seacrest, who said Conrad is "tragic in [the dating] department," asked, "What's with you and falling for these guys?"

Conrad replied, "I have no idea!"

The Hills returns with 10 bonus episodes beginning March 24.

Assuming a much larger role this season on The Hills, fan favorite Lo Bosworth is now living with Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge in a new apartment just in time for new boys, new jobs and new drama!

Originally from Laguna Beach, Calif., Bosworth, 22, appeared with childhood pal Conrad on Lauguna Beach and made brief appearances to console and cajole her pal on last season’s episodes of The Hills.

Attending the University of California at Santa Barbara as a communications major, Bosworth has since transferred to UCLA and plans to finish out her senior year as an art history major this spring. She is currently single.

She’s dated her share of men, but which beau does Lauren “Lo” Bosworth prefer for her BFF Lauren Conrad?

“Honestly, I think Stephen is best for Lauren,” Bosworth tells Usmagazine.com of Colletti. “It all goes back to friendships. We have all known each other for so long and that really translates to good relationships in the long run.”

Conrad and Colletti dated during their Laguna Beach days and had a brief fling earlier this year (Conrad told Us they were “just friends”).

“He is so funny, has a really big heart and cares about his friends,” Bosworth tells Us. “He is there for you whenever you need him.”

As for Conrad’s on-and-off fling Brody Jenner, Bosworth insists the two are on good terms (he even went to her fashion show Tuesday).

“Brody has a new girlfriend, Cora, and Lauren has completely moved on,” Bosworth says.

Conrad is also chummy with former foe, Kristin Cavallari (they both dated Colletti).

“Lauren and Kristin made up a few weeks ago,” Bosworth says. “They were out at a bar and sat down and worked out their differences. Everything's fine.”

Adds Bosworth, “We have all grown up so much since the Laguna Beach days.”
