I just wanted to hear your voice," DeGraw told <a href="http://extratv.warnerbros.com/2008/09/gavin_degraw_travis_barker_dj.php" target="_blank"> <i>Extra</i></a> on Monday.</p> <p>"My heart goes out to the friends and families of those affected by this tragedy. I wish Travis and Adam the best during their recovery," DeGraw told <b>Usmagazine.com</b>. </p> <p>DeGraw said he is still trying to make sense of the tragic turn of events. </p> <p>"The people that you travel with when you’re doing this for a living, they become your family," DeGraw told <i>Extra</i>. “I was shaking somebody’s hand who was about to die… That could just as easily been our reality too and I feel terrible that those guys had to go through that... You have no idea what your own fate or their fate is going to be.” </p> <p>On Monday, <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/news/travis-barker-crash-smoke-fire-killed-crew" target="_blank">a coroner determined</a> that smoke and fire killed the pilot and co-pilot while impact-related injuries killed two other passengers.</p> <p>While a cause for the crash has yet to officially be determined, <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/news/travis-barker-crash-faulty-tire-may-be-to-blame" target="_blank">a blown tire during takeoff</a> may be to blame.</p> <p>In a statement, Goodyear, the tire's manufacturer, said: "We have been contacted by the [National Transportation Safety Board] and will cooperate fully with its investigation.
