Papa Pitt is headed back to work.

The actor, 44, has officially signed on for Quentin Tarantino's WWII drama Inglorious Bastards, according to Variety.

Though much of the movie's dialogue is in French or German, Variety reports that Pitt will speak English in his role "as a Tennessee hillbilly who assembles a team of eight Jewish-American soldiers to take on the Nazis."

Office star B.J. Novak is in talks to star as one of Pitt's underlings.

Filming begins October 13 in Germany.

The move means Angelina Jolie likely won't be headed back to work anytime soon.

She said in an interview this summer: "Brad and I take turns working. So instead of it being, 'I get to work next,' it's, 'You have to work next, because it's your turn. I'm staying home with the kids.'"

Pitt is expected to attend the 65th Venice Film Festival on August 27 for the premiere of his new Coen Brothers crime comedy, Burn After Reading.

A legend in cult film circles, this Knoxville, Tenn., native is known for his unique directing and screenwriting talents. After Quentin Tarantino released Reservoir Dogs in 1992, many film aficionados were afraid he could not top the success of his first film. He proved them all wrong with the release of 1994's Pulp Fiction, which was nominated for seven Oscars. Tarantino won one that year for Best Screenplay. His next big hit was 1997's Jackie Brown, which was followed by 2003's film Kill Bill: Vol. 1, starring Uma Thurman. Tarantino has been linked to many different screen stars including Shar Jackson and Mira Sorvino.

The director wants the proud pop to star in his new WWII film

Four days after his twins were born, Brad Pitt met with Quentin Tarantino in France to talk about going back to work.

According to Variety, the director chatted with Pitt Tuesday in hopes of landing him for his upcoming WWII drama Inglorious Bastards.

Pitt would likely play the key role of Aldo Raine.

(He's not the only A-lister Tarantino is eyeing: He also plans to meet with Leonardo DiCaprio, Variety reports.)

The film is set to shoot this fall in Germany and France, where Pitt's love Angelina Jolie is resting after giving birth Saturday.

"Brad and I take turns working," Jolie has said. "So instead of it being 'I get to work next,' it's 'You have to work next, because it's your turn. I'm staying home with the kids.'"

Could Brad Pitt be headlining Quentin Tarantino's next film?

According to DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com, the director, 45, is in talks with Pitt, 44, to star in his next film, the World War II action tale Inglorious Bastards.

It centers on a Dirty Dozen-like group of soldiers behind enemy lines.

Pitt has been in France tending to his girlfriend Angelina Jolie, who has been in a hospital preparing to give birth to their twins.

"We've made a point to, both of us, not be working," Jolie recently said. "So we'll be home together with the kids.

Shooting on Inglorious Bastards begins in October.

Calls to Tarantino's agent were not returned.

Fergie and Quentin Tarantino celebrated their birthdays with a joint bash last night in Las Vegas.

“We wanted to do something that was crazy and a lot of fun,” she told Usmagazine.com.

The pair — who filmed a hot and heavy love scene in Tarantino's 2007 flick Grindhouse — spent the afternoon with friends at the Mirage Hotel’s Bare Pool Lounge.

Fergie (who turned 33) and Tarantino (who turned 45) caught the 7 p.m. performance of Cirque du Soleil's Beatle-themed show "LOVE." (They devoured cupcakes backstage, says a source.)

They then partied into the early morning hours at club Jet with Fergie's fiancé Josh Duhamel, Daryl Hannah, and rapper Nelly.

(Guest Kid Rock bought The Dutchess a hot dog toaster called the “Hot Diggity Dog.” “You put the bun on one side, and you put the hot dog in the little hot dog holes, and it pops out of the toaster in about a minute, and your hot dogs are ready to go,” Fergie told Us.)

Further putting those pregnancy rumors to rest, Fergie sipped on wine throughout the night.

At 2:30 a.m. at Jet, Fergie and Tarantino were presented with a birthday cake.

Tarantino "grabbed a handful" and threw it at Fergie, an eyewitness told Usmagazine.com. She then tossed a piece right back at him before "laughing and hugging him and heading back for the Mirage Villas, where they were staying," the onlooker adds.
