The Lost star is out early after serving 17 days of a 180-day sentence

Michelle Rodriguez has been released from jail early after just 17 days, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Web site.

The actress, best known for her role on Lost, was sentenced to 180 days for violating probation stemming from her DUI arrest. She checked into the Lynwood, California, jail days before Christmas, on Dec. 23.

Rodriguez, 29, admitted to violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of community service and for drinking three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring anklet.

"She's nice, personable, down to earth ... nothing like Paris Hilton!" a correctional officer told Us a few days into her stint. "She asked to work," the source said of the star who helped in the kitchen. "She said she wanted a job and didn't want to be isolated like other celebs."

When asked by Us if she was nervous about her jail time, Rodriguez replied, "I'm a woman, honey!"

How is Michelle Rodriguez — who turned herself in Sunday for probation violation probation violation — holding up in the slammer?

"She's nice, personable, down to earth ... nothing like Paris Hilton!" a correctional officer tells Usmagazine.com.

Rodriguez, 29, spent Christmas working in the kitchen.

"She asked to work," the source adds. "She said she wanted a job and didn't want to be isolated like other celebs."

Life behind bars isn't new for the former Lost star.

In May 2006, she served 4 hours and 20 minutes at the Lynwood Jail for violating probation from a 2005 DUI arrest in Hawaii.

Kiefer Sutherland isn't the only celeb spending Christmas in the slammer.

Michelle Rodriguez checked into jail in Lynwood, California, Sunday to begin serving her 180-day sentence for violating her probation in a DUI case, TMZ.com reports.

In October, the former Lost star, 29, was sentenced after she admitted she had violated her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of community service and for drinking three times while wearing her SCRAM alcohol-monitoring anklet.

The former Lost star tells Us she is hitting spas to prep for her upcoming 180-day jail stint

Michelle Rodriguez was recently sentenced to the slammer for 180 days for probation violation from prior a hit-and-run case.

So how is the former Lost star, 29, holding up?

“A lot of spa time, a lot of reading, a lot of hiding," she told Usmagazine.com at the grand opening of Diablo's Cantina at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas October 13. "I go out with my friends and my pals."

So is she nervous? “I'm a woman, honey!"

Still, Rodriguez admitted, "I take life as it comes, and that's it.”

She must start her sentence by December 24.

Actress Michelle Rodriguez has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for probation violation.

"We are hoping that this sentence will be a wake up call and she will begin to turn her life around," Frank Mateljan, press secretary for the Los Angeles City Attorney's office, tells Us. Rodriguez must surrender by May 31.

Rodriguez, 27, was on probation in Los Angeles for three charges stemming from two separate incidents that occurred in the Hollywood area in 2003. She violated the terms of her probation when she was pulled over and failed a sobriety test on December 2, 2005, on Kalahiana' ole Highway. She plead guilty to a DUI and opted to spend five days in jail rather than complete 240 hours of community service.

The Los Angeles charges stemmed from a July 22, 2003, accident when Rodriguez committed a hit-and-run. Then a little less than four months later, on November 4, 2003, she was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to Mateljan, Rodriguez must also enter an alcohol rehab program, perform 30 days of community service, and participate in programs run by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Michelle Rodriguez, 27, doesnâ€™t want to pick up trash on the side of the road. The actress, who ironically plays the tough cop Ana Lucia on Lost, chose jail time and a $500 fine over community service when brought before a Honolulu court for her second DUI in 18 months. TMZ.com reports:

Lost star Michelle Rodriguez pleaded guilty Tuesday to driving under the influence, and she opted for jail rather than community service. Rodriguez was given a choice by the Honolulu judge: Either serve 240 hours of community service or five days in jail. Rodriguez chose the latter.

Rodriguez was ordered to report back to court late Wednesday, where she will be taken into custody and transported to a women's facility in Oahu, Hawaii.

Soon "bad numbers" and some beat-up dude in the cellar may be the least of her worries. Rodriguez will go to court again on May 5 for a probation revocation hearing on May 5, where a judge could order her to serve more than 16 months in jail.
