Three months before she announced her surprise pregnancy, Jamie Lynn Spears was honored at Us' Hot Hollywood Party September 13 in L.A.
When asked if she thinks she'll be married or have kids in 10 years, she told Us:
"I don’t know. Whatever happens, happens, I guess. You can’t really say what is going to happen."
When asked where she wants to be at age 26, she said, "Hopefully I will have a big house somewhere and be lying out by my pool. I will go back to the south and build a big ranch. All my friends are there."
Ironically, at the time she told Us that she just saw the movie Knocked Up. "Everybody you know saw Knocked Up!" she said, adding that she thought it was "funny.
"I’m just the type of person that doesn’t get half of the jokes, but the stuff I did get was pretty funny," she said.

US: How do you feel when you consider all of the success you’ve had with Zoey 101?
JLS: I just take it that I'm very blessed to have everything that I’ve had. I take it as a compliment and feel very blessed.
US: How do you feel when you consider that you’ve been a part of achieving that success?
JLS: I’ve definitely not made all this stuff happen, it was everyone on that show. I was just a small part of it. You just have to go out there and have fun and I think that is what everybody did on that show. We just had fun. We are blessed for that.
US: What has been the biggest obstacle in your career so far?
JLS: Probably just coming out to LA to shoot when my home is in Louisiana. It’s not really an obstacle but it made me prove to myself that I can be independent. I can come out here by myself and be just fine.
US: Are you completely alone out here?
JLS: No. Trust me I have my parents!
US: But it’s definitely different in LA then Louisiana?
JLS: It’s different because at home I know where everything is. It’s a real small town and I have all my friends that go to school everyday. Out here you have to work and it’s a different schedule and you’re with just parents. It’s kind of like work actually becomes the fun thing to do.
US: Do you feel like you’ve gotten used to it?
JLS: Of course sometimes I will miss my friends but I'm used to it. It doesn’t bother me; I like to be by myself sometimes. I’m that kind of person that would rather sit in my room and watch movies all day. I do get sad when I leave and I’m like, “I’m going to miss all of you.” But I know I'm coming out here for a good reason. But it’s hard because it’s between two things you love. I’m lucky I get to experience both.
US: What keeps you sane?
JLS: When I need to get away, I go to the mall and go shopping. Everybody knows where to find me. My mom says, “She must be at the mall.”

There is no one to blame, it happens, I should know my daughter had her first son at 18, second at 19 and is pregnant with a 3rd and she will only be 20. 3 kids 2 and under by the age of 20. Parents are not to blame for the choices their children decide to make. It would be nice if there was more support for these kids (moral) so they realize that having children doesn't make you a good Mom or Dad, you have to support them and take care of them. I don't blame the parents for children who no right from wrong and choose to make bad choices. You can't hold there hand forever.

Honestly, is anyone surprised that a 16 year old is having sex? I don't know how much education she has about the types of protection available to women who are sexually active, but perhaps she needed more.

The sad thing is that Britney and her sister's actions are copied every day by young girls who look up to them because of their fame. Britney was not ready to become a Mom in her 20's. Jamie Lynn comes from the same gene pool, and seems to have the same intellect (or lack thereof), so it's highly doubtful we'll see different results in her parenting abilities. Instead of selling their story to OK magazine, mama Spears needs to get these girls out of the public eye and into some REAL counseling. All the money in the world won't compensate for the mess these girls have made of their lives.

She isn't the first 16 year old to get pregnant. It does happen, and I am glad that people aren't abandoning her, and making her feel like having a baby is a curse.
I wish her all the best at such a young age, and I am hopeful that her maternal instincts are better than her sisters, and she can then teach Britney how to parent properly.

Ok as far fetched as it sounds some "media" outlets are reporting that they are faking this to bring more attention to Jamie Lynn (yes I know far fetched and stoopid) BUT what if Britney is the 1 really preggers and they are same it is Jamie Lynn so the media leaces Britney alone??? U know kind of pass the baby off as the little sisters cause we all know Britney isn't going to want/be capable of taking care of it!
I know that sounds stupid and such BUT I seriously think I can see this happening especially with that story about what 3 weeks ago that Britney was the one pregnant.

I guess we can read these posts and already see the outcome of this: a bunch of children defending a 16 yr old pregnant girl. Although some of the posters are older, they are just trying to defend their own loose sexual conduct. Pregnant children should always be depicted in a negative light or other ignorant children will copy them. The Spears fans, as a group, appear to be well below the average IQ and really are not capable of making their own decisions. The rest of us have to support most of these teen families.

Instead of having her kids in church on Sundays and at parties and movie sets Monday to Saturday nights, maybe Lynn Spears should have taken some time to go over birth control and responsibility with her children. Something is not right in that family. Sure, plenty of people are sexually active at 16 but they use sense and use birth control. And the pill with a condom is pretty damn infallible if used correctly.
