I'm Not There Director on Heath Ledger's Death: "An Unimaginable Tragedy"

Heath Ledger's untimely death is reverberating among his former colleagues.

"This is an unimaginable tragedy," Todd Haynes, the director of Ledger's most recent film I'm Not There, told Usmagazine.com in a statement.

"Heath was a true artist, a deeply sensitive man, an explorer, gifted and wise beyond his years," Haynes said. "There is no finer person on this earth."

Added Christine Vachon, the film's producer, "My heart breaks for Heath's family. Heath was a wonderful artist and a lovely man."

Wow. This was the most shocking thing I've heard in a long time. As an older teenager, I think Heath was my first celeb crush. Whether self-induced or natural, I can't help but only feel sorrow for his family and for the loss of such a young life. I am extremely interested in what comes into light in the next few days, but even more so, my heart goes out to Michelle and Matilda. God bless and RIP, Heath.

AS a mom the true tragedy is for his daughter. She wont get to experience her life with him and now it will only be in memory. She has lost a huge part of her life.

Some respect for him and his family. Despite how we lost him, it is a tremendous loss to his family/friends/acting community.
