Verne Troyer says he is still mourning Heath Ledger's death.

Troyer was shooting Terry Gilliam's fantasy The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus with Ledger when the Australian actor died of an accidental overdose in January. Production on the film production was temporarily suspended.

"It was very difficult for everyone, cast and crew," Troyer told Usmagazine.com at the Hollywood premiere of The Love Guru Wednesday.

"It's still a hard subject to talk about," he said. "I'm sorry."

Colin Farrell, Jude Law and Johnny Depp stepped in to play one of three incarnations of Ledger's character. (Some of the original footage of Ledger may remain in the movie.)

"It makes me feel uncomfortable to think about it too much ... but it's an incredibly painful honor," Farrell told the Herald Sun.

The movie is set to hit screens in 2009.
