Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, along with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, hosted a private gala bash for their new Brit neighbors at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Geffen Contemporary in L.A. July 22.
The A-list guests included newlywed Eva Longoria (sans Tony Parker), Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, Rihanna, Eve, Brooke Shields and husband Chris Henchy, Adrian Grenier and Queen Latifah.
On the menu (catered by the gourmet L.A.-based Patina Group): A giant tower of chocolate cupcakes hamburgers, fries, chicken wings, pizza, mashed potatoes and salad.
Celeb DJ Samantha Ronson — and Linday Lohan's pal — spinned tunes, including "Rehab" from Amy Winehouse, John Mellencamp's "Jack and Diane, and the Spice Girls classic "Wannabe." (Posh got "really shy and did not sing along," says a guest.)
Stevie Wonder entertained the crowd with a 15-minute set that included his hit "Signed, Sealed, Delivered." Cruise and Holmes sang along, while Smith picked up wife Pinkett so she could see Wonder in action, the witness says. "This is amazing! I can't believe Stevie Wonder is singing!" an elated Posh gushed to Holmes.
After Wonder wrapped up, Smith grabbed the mic for an impromptu rap session, splitting the dance floor into two sections. He then went back and forth to both sides to see who was having more fun, demanding that each side scream louder, said a source. Then, he did splits! "The look on Tom's face was priceless!" the witness says.
By 1:40 a.m., Cruise, Holmes and the Beckhams called it a night.
