Vince Vaughn: Why My Relationship With Jen Aniston Ended

The Break-Up stars broke up more than a year ago, but Vince Vaughn says he remains close to Jennifer Aniston, 38.

“I have such a great friendship with Jennifer,” the actor, 37, confesses to Parade, out January 13. “I still talk to her constantly. I have a real, genuine connection with Jen.”

What went wrong?

“People date, and sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn’t,” he tells the mag of his 13-month relationship with the Friends alum.

And the star admits he’s not yet ready to settle down.

“I don’t run away from [the responsibility of having a family], but I’ve never been to the point where I’ve felt like, 'Wow, this makes sense,'” he says.

Neither has Aniston, apparently. Her rep recently told Usmagazine.com “she’s not pregnant” with Vaughn's child after false reports surfaced in the National Enquirer.

Wow. No wonder some stars stick with the "no comment" line. They can't even say simple things like "she is a great, genuine friend" (a comment I find very nice and definite) without people becoming crazy and spouting off accussations on Vince, Jen, Brad, Angelina, everyone. If we like gossip so much maybe we shouldn't flip out over a simple statement. Otherwise "no comment" may become the only phrase stars want to say, and rightly so.

He is no longer in love with her but he may still care for her as a friend. That happens with many divorced couples. I don't think you have sufficient information about their divorce to state with certainty that BP was lying. Only BP, AJ and JA know if what he said is true or not.

Marriage is not some magic state of being that solves all problems, it can be the state of being that causes one to have problems. 60-70%+ of celeb marriages end in divorce. If she decides to have children a marriage is not necessary if that is what she wants. If she never has children that is also her decision. Why can't people talk about her alone, not always in relation to a man. Why do some still think that she wants Brad back in her life, she was not happy with him before, now he has FOUR kids, why on earth would she want him plus four to make her unhappy again. Jen looks pretty happy to me. She's happy, healthy and
certainly seems to be doing just what she wants. She
doesn't have to have a man to take care of her. She can
do it all by herself. She still has several years to
have a baby or adopt one if she decides too. Look at
all the stars(and others) that get married, have kids
and still get divorced. About 50 per cent do. I can't
believe how many woman think marriage is the only
answer. Why get married just to be married? Hallie
and Nichole are both several years older than her and
they are just now having children. Brad and Vince are

Maybe Vince did not like having to be a quartet with the Cox-Arquettes all the time as most guys will run for the hills rather than do that. Anyone who dates Jen will have to also be prepared to date Courtenay and David, and most guys will not put up with that situation. Brad was a saint to have done so for years. Brad was just being polite, he is clearly deeply deeply in love with Angie and very happy and content with her and their children. However, he is a good guy, has never said anything negative, and most likely won't. He is not vendictive or spiteful like Jen. And for all anyone knows Jen may have wanted the divorce as much or more than Brad. Some are so eager, so certain that Brad was the only one that wanted out without any proof that he was 100% at fault. Both wanted the divorce. Proof, there was no long Court battle like some celeb divorces, all their real property except for the BH house(they split proceeds from that house sale 50/50 and Brad's realtor found the buyer for that house)was separate property, and Jen got bought out of her small share of Plan B (Brad Grey and Brad owned most of it and Brad got Brad Grey's share when Brad Grey became head of Paramount). The divorce happened in 2005, it is old news, it is now 2008, time for those clinging to this to let it go.

There are no pics of Jen with any of her family member in years. She is always with the Cox-Arquettes, not with her mother, her father, or her two brothers, NEVER. If one is in touch with their family members they are seen together or there are reported sightings, and NONE of that has happened. If anyone has a pic a tab would have printed it.

Vince is saying that Jen was OK for a friend. Vince is a playa, likes YOUNG women in their 20's, that is his preference over the years. Jen was just good for publicity for TBU, which Vince produced. Notice Vince got ReeseW for his new movie, she is what 8 years younger than Jen. Jen played the pity card too long, she is now on the C/D list.

It appears their divorce was amicable (at least it did not drag out). His family also continues to maintain a good relationship with Jen while also embracing Angie and their grandchildren. BP has always maintained the relationship did not work out but he has never stated their was any reason to hate or dislike JA. A lot of people have good feelings for their ex even if they are no longer in love with them. If that is their case.......good for them! In any case you do not have sufficient information about their relationship to accuse BP of being untruthful.

Why do people always believe that Brad left Jen, and not the other way around. Just because Brad moved on very fast doesn't mean he left her. For me it seems more like she dumps all of her guys especially for acting like jerks. A person like Vince is someone who is funny and can tell jokes, but may end up telling the jokes at the wrong time, meaning he is still a baby and has some growing up to do. And he's right, that people date and sometimes it doesn't work out. It's not some crisis like something was horribly wrong with either of them. Often people just work better as friends. And that's great they could keep that going.

5:50 Thanks for the comment!! I completely agree!! Us weekly still can't get over the fact that the engagement news was a lie and they lost a lot of reputation because of it.
Vince is a gentleman, but he needs to stop talking about Jen in interviews. Even if they are friends this could also be seen as using Jen for publicity. The same way her ex husband did. At least Vince's comment was not insulting despite Us weekly's attempt to demonstrate otherwise.
