Amber Heard can add global beauty ambassador to her resume! The actress and activist was just named the new face of L’Oréal Paris, and she’s already proving why she is the perfect choice for the post. While attending the Sorry Angel screening at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, May 10, Amber stunned in an ultra-plunging Valentino ballgown — but it was her Old Hollywood glam-inspired makeup that had Us talking.

For her first appearance since the news broke, Amber stepped out in her red carpet best. Stunning in a sexy floral-print gown and blinding bling, the Justice League star sported winged-out eyeliner and a bright red pout that served up major date night makeup inspo. No wonder someone gave this woman a beauty contract.

The brand’s Colour Riche La Palette Nude served as the shimmering base for her sultry eye that was further defined by a thick dash of the new Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner. A coating of the Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara gave her lashes a fluttery (and flirty!) effect. And when it came to that vibrant scarlet pout, Amber wore the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick in Matador that promises 16 hours of non-drying wear.

Growing up riding horses in Texas, Amber admitted in a statement that she “never really imagined” herself being the face of such an iconic beauty brand, but the actress has always “loved the fun of beauty and the power of transformation” and is honored to be joining the ranks of fellow L’Oréal ladies like Elle Fanning, Julianne Moore and Camila Cabello.

“To become a spokesperson for this dynamic, world-loved beauty brand that’s been telling women we’re worth it since before I was born, and to join the L’Oréal Paris family of changemakers is such an honor,” she said. “I feel like these women – my fellow ambassadors – represent a voice, a power, a movement, an opinion.”

As an outspoken activist on issues relating to human rights and under-represented communities, Amber also said she hopes to use her platform to inspire change and raise awareness.

“Over the years I’ve always thought to not just be an actor,” she explained in a statement, “but to use my voice as a platform for good to make the world a slightly, slightly better place and empower women the best that I can.”
