Biography:

Meryl Streep made her film debut in 1977 with the film Julia and, by 1981, held her first leading role in The French Lieutenant’s Woman. In the eighties, Streep starred in Falling in Love, Plenty and A Cry in the Dark.

In the nineties, Streep appeared alongside Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis in Death Becomes Her, as well as Glenn Close in The House of the Spirits.

In 2002, she co-starred with Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore in The Hours and appeared in the acclaimed HBO miniseries Angels in America.

Streep was awarded the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2004 for her lifetime contribution to enriching American culture.

More recently, Streep can be seen in more recent films such as Prime, The Devil Wears Prada — which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy — and Julie & Julia.
