Austin Butler

Austin Butler was born August 1991 and raised in Southern California. When he was 14 years old, he got his big break as an actor playing Zippy Brewster on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide from 2005 to 2007.

The child star’s fame grew during his one-season stint on Zoey 101, in which he portrayed James Garrett on the Nickelodeon series in 2008. Butler’s TV success continued with roles on Ruby & the Rockits, Life Unexpected and Switched at Birth.

The teen heartthrob later starred on The Carrie Diaries from 2013 to 2014 and The Shannara Chronicles from 2016 to 2017. Butler’s biggest movie credits include 2019’s Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood and 2022’s Elvis, in which he played the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The actor won his first Golden Globe award in January 2023 for his portrayed of Elvis Presley in the Baz Luhrmann movie.

Butler began dating Disney Channel star Vanessa Hudgens in 2011. The couple — who share mutual friend Ashley Tisdale — split over the holidays in 2019 after nearly nine years together. Us Weekly confirmed in December 2021 that the Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure actor was dating Kaia Gerber.
