Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who was born October 22, 1975 in Missoula, Montana got his start in theater productions — including a role in the Tony Award-winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the 2007 Public Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
After guest spots on hit shows like Ugly Betty and a lead role in the short-lived CBS sitcom,The Class, the graduate of New York’s American Musical and Dramatic Academy landed his big break in 2009 when he was cast as Mitchell Pritchett on the award-winning ABC comedy, Modern Family. Ferguson — who plays Cameron Tucker’s (Eric Stonestreet) more low-key partner — nabbed an Emmy nomination in 2010 for his role.
The former child theater actor, who also had a role in the 2008 thriller, Untraceable, married longtime partner, lawyer Justin Mikita, in a New York City ceremony in July 2013. The couple has two kids: Beckett, born in July 2020, and Sullivan, born in November 2022.
