Steven Yeun is a Korean-American actor who was born in South Korea before moving to North America with his family. He grew up in Michigan and later graduated from Kalamazoo College with a degree in psychology, which is where he first got interested in acting.

Yeun’s career began in Chicago where he performed as a part of the sketch comedy group Stir Friday Night and later The Second City. He appeared in a few short films before landing his breakout role as Glenn Rhee in The Walking Dead in 2010. He starred on the show for six seasons, ending in 2016.

The actor has since starred in Okja, Sorry to Bother You and Burning. He has had great success with his voice work, including work on Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, Stretch Armstrong & the Flex Fighters, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Wizards and Invincible.

Yeun made Oscars history in March 2021 when he was nominated for the Best Actor category, becoming the first Asian American actor to do so. He earned the nod for his performance in Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari.

The Humans star married Joana Pak in 2016. They share two children, a son named Jude and a daughter whose name has yet to be revealed.
