Vampire Weekend

This NYC indie rock band consists of consists of lead singer Ezra Koenig, drummer Chris Tomson, bassist Chris Baio, and producer and instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij. They formed in 2006 at Columbia University, and hit it big on the mainstream airwaves in 2008 with their song “A-Punk.”
Rolling Stone ranked their song “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa,” which has African pop and Western classic influences, 67th in its list of 2007 100 Best Songs of the Year. Their debut album, Vampire Weekend, was released in January 2009 and the band’s music has since been featured in films like Step Brothers, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and Eclipse, along with video games like Guitar Hero 5 and LEGO Rock Band. Vampire Weekend’s second album, Contra, hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts in it’s first week in stores, selling over 124,000 copies in its first seven days of release.
Vampire Weekend has collaborated with artists such as Kid Cudi, Discovery and The Very Best.
