After being stuck in our heads for weeks, the video to the song of summer, “Bang Bang,” debuted on Sunday night after singers Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Jessie J opened the MTV VMAs in Inglewood, Calif.
Naturally, the video proved to be just as catchy as the girl power anthem, with each singer rocking different looks throughout. While Grande wears her trademark pony and Minaj shows off her curves, Jessie J’s hair owns the video with three gorgeous styles.
“I wanted to feel sexy and confident [for the video,]” Jessie J says in an exclusive video just for Us Weekly.

In addition to a sleek straight style and textured ponytail, she rocked voluminous curls. “[I wanted] lots of hair on my face so I can play with it and let it sweat out a bit and get frizzy a bit,” she said.
As it turns out, recreating her curls is a cinch. Jessie J’s hairstylist Alisha Dobson tells Us to start by working Herbal Essences Naked Volumizing Souffle mousse through damp hair then blow dry with a diffuser. Once dry, curl one-inch sections into tight ringlets with an iron. Then run fingers through the curls and spray with Herbal Essences Body Envy Dry Shampoo for texture.
Dobson added even more volume by backcombing the bottom section of the hair. To finish, she smoothed flyaways and defined curls with a little spray gel before spritzing Herbal Essences Naked Flexible Hold Spritzer for hold.
