Maybe she’s Bourne with it! Julia Stiles hit the Las Vegas premiere of Jason Bourne on Monday, July 18, wearing a perfectly side-swept hairstyle that managed to stay in place all night thanks to celebrity hairstylist Creighton Bowman.
“Our look was a gypsy inspiration. Wild, untamed and tons of movement,” Bowman tells Us Weekly. “Julia had actually been inspired a couple of days beforehand by pictures of gypsy women with their hair worn to the side. We decided to create a messy braid to pull her hair to one side in front of her shoulder and secure it there.”

Before assembling her ponytail, Bowman applied Tonique Hydratant, a leave-in mist, all over the Save the Last Dance star’s slightly damp locks. This leave-in mist gave her a “nice moisture balance in the dry desert heat,” he said. For volume, he applied Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice at her hairline and roots, then blew out her hair with a medium round blush. A little bit of Condition Naturelle leave-in conditioner protected Stiles’ hair before he curled it in loose waves for a “slept-in next-day” look.
“We pulled all of Julia’s curled and textured hair to one side to showcase her neckline and the delicate straps of her dress,” he explained. “To keep it to one side, the braid ran across the back, and I pinned it down with small hairpins so they would disappear into her hair, pulling out pieces to keep it modern and sexy.”
Stiles’ makeup artist for the night, Stephen Sollitto, was also inspired by gypsies — along with her midnight blue Lela Rose maxidress printed with white leaves. “The dress had a bohemian feel that said smoky eye to me,” Sollitto tells Us Weekly. “I wanted to create a seductive and gypsy-esque look for the red carpet.”

Sollitto outlined Stiles’ eyes with Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil Kohl Kajal Eyeliner. For added drama, he swept on the darkest color from the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Extreme Shimmer Shadow & Liner in Gold Nude, along with complementing lighter colors in the corners and outer edges. He also coated her lashes with Dior Show Blackout Mascara.
To keep the focus on her eyes, he went light on the lips using Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Hazelnut and NARS Honolulu Honey Satin Lipstick.
