Former Supermodel Rachel Hunter Shaves Her Whole Face to Get Rid of Wrinkles

So cutting edge! Former supermodel Rachel Hunter will go to great lengths for the sake of skincare. Her Ovation TV show, Rachel Hunter’s Tour of Beauty, lets her explore different lands to learn about their techniques. For a recent episode, the mom of Renee and Liam with ex-husband Rod Stewart visited a Japanese beauty clinic to shave her face — a process that is supposed to achieve glowing, wrinkle-free skin.

“Having a shave 😳 No I didn’t grow any stubble . But I have to say my skin felt amazing,” Hunter, 46, wrote Tuesday, August 2, including a small clip from the episode on Instagram.

She posted the whole process in a July 3 YouTube video. “Women here in Japan sometimes shave because it helps exfoliate their skin, as well as helps the beauty products go into the skin,” she explained to the camera. “You get a more smoother, shinier look.”

The 1994 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model was visibly nervous before the ordeal — and getting a look at the size of the razor didn’t help. Her technician, who said that she shaves more than 200 people a month, began by prepping Hunter’s skin with a thick shaving cream, working her way from the side of the model’s face onward. She even removed the hair on Hunter’s ears. “My little hairs that have been with me for 45 years,” Hunter griped. “Now they’re all gone!”

When Hunter asked about stubble, her technician informed her that she’d have to shave in order to combat the tiny hairs. “Are you f–king kidding me?!” Hunter exclaimed incredulously. She vowed to leave this beauty trick to the guys, but the payoff was (almost!) worth it. “My skin feels great!” she said.

To round out her experience, she guzzled a postshave beer infused with collagen. Though it had a raspberry flavor, it still wasn’t her cup of tea. “It’s just all too masculine for me, to be honest,” she said, ripping her hair towel off. “What the hell am I doing?”
