Bring on the rising temps! Chloë Grace Moretz didn’t just make her red carpet debut with beau Brooklyn Beckham at the Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising premiere in L.A. on Monday, May 16. She also introduced the look of the summer: the subtly shimmering eye.
“I kept her makeup light and fresh with a hint of glittery shimmer on her eyes,” celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh tells Us Weekly. “I wanted it to contrast from the textured fabric of her dress.”

Mission accomplished — and with serious success! While the Kick-Ass actress, 19, turned heads in a seriously steamy Alexander McQueen LBD, complete with a peekaboo bralette, her beauty look remained modern and youthful, thanks in no small part to the glittery hues.

To create Moretz’s eye, Quynh used Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Extreme Shimmer Shadow & Liner in Nude. She applied the soft nude shade directly onto the lid, then added the palette’s taupe shade at the crease. Quynh, who has also worked with Emma Roberts and Daisy Ridley, then defined Moretz’s top lash line with the dark liner shade, while using a different shade — the taupe — for the lower lash line “to keep the undereye bright and fresh.”

To soften any shadows, the makeup artist used one final sweep of the peach shadow at the inner corner of the eye, which instantly brightened the whole thing.
As for those lush lashes, Quynh applied “two generous coats” of Physicians Formula Eye Booster Instant Doll Lash Extension Kit mascara.

Adding even more romance, Moretz completed her beauty look with a romantic braided updo by Gregory Russell. The celebrity hairstylist created a center-part low bun with tendrils pulled loose, plus a few braided pieces that he crisscrossed over the knot (all held in place with Ouai Soft Hair Spray).
