Deepica Mutyala uploaded the life-changing video to her YouTube channel in January and has since racked up nearly 4 million views from women all over seeking the cure for dark under eye circles.

“I knew it was a good tip, never in my life did I think people from all over the world — 4 million people let alone — would be so intrigued by this,” Mutyala told Today‘s Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

YouTube beauty blogger Deepica Mutyala uses red lipstick to get rid of dark under eye circles.

To get started, use a finger or a makeup brush to dab minimal amounts of red lipstick under the eyes, then take a concealer and press it on top, Mutyala instructed.

“It’s kind of just looking at the color wheel, if you’re looking at it you’ll see the red and oranges and directly across from it you’ll see the greens and blues — those are the colors that are under your eyes,” she said. “So it just makes sense that they kind of neutralize each other.”

One red shade does not fit all. Mutyala said you have to find the hue that can cancel out darkness in accordance with your undertones. “If you’re fair toned or tan or darker skin toned, it kind of ranges from a bright red-orange to a coral peach,” Mutyala explained.
