On Jimmy Kimmel Live! October 17, which was filmed in Brooklyn, NY, the beloved Bronx native told the late night host that having a baby was no joke. When Kimmel asked her if childbirth was as hard as she thought it would be, Cardi responded, “It was totally harder. She broke my vagina.”
The “I Like It” rapper went on to lament that no one gave her a warning about what the delivery room was really going to be like. “Why nobody tells you about those things?” she continued to a laughing crowd. “Nobody told me they were gonna stitch my vagina!”
Cardi B welcomed her first baby, daughter Kulture, with her husband, rapper Offset, on July 10.
After becoming a mother, the 26-year-old chart-topper has put her daughter’s well-being and her own health first. On July 26, she told fans she wasn’t going to go on the next leg of Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic world tour after all. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” she wrote to fans on Instagram.
Since then, the star seems to have made a full mental and physical recovery — as evidenced with a nude photo of her proudly showing off her post-baby weight loss on August 25. Her 26-year-old husband posted the sexy picture with the caption, “WIFEY GODDESS BEAUTY.” She also returned to the stage on September 29 for her first solo show since at the Global Citizen Festival in New York.
Now, she’s just got to focus on reining in her daughter. As she told Kimmel of Kulture’s personality, “She’s very fiesty. I’m like oh… oh snap, I already see it coming. She really is very demanding.”
