Where has Chris Hemsworth gone?! The Avengers star shared a shocking Instagram photograph of himself on Sunday, Nov. 22, showing off his dramatic new movie weight loss and advising fans not to try his diet themselves!
The usually super-buff Australian star looked almost unrecognizable in the picture, which showed him shirtless, displaying his ribs and terrifyingly slimmed-down body, complete with crazy caveman-style hair and beard.
The amazing transformation was for his upcoming movie In the Heart of the Sea, where he plays the role of Owen Chase, a sailor stranded at sea after his boat was destroyed by a Moby Dick-style whale.
And as the actor told fans as he shared the shocking photograph, the experience of losing so much weight was not fun.
"Just tried a new diet/training program called 'Lost at Sea,'" the 32-year-old star captioned the picture. "Wouldn't recommend it," he added.
The intense slimdown is the result of sticking to a miniscule 500-calorie-a-day diet — and he admitted to ET recently that it was tough going.
"I spend more time thinking about food than anything else," he revealed to the outlet.
