Girl’s got it going on! Demi Lovato is sporting a fab, slimmed-down figure and she’s proud of it. Not to mention, she can sing Hozier’s hit track “Take Me to Church” almost as well as the singer himself.
The “Cool for the Summer” songstress, 23, stopped by BBC’s Radio 1 Live Lounge on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and opened up about her upcoming album, Confident, due out Oct. 16.
“This album is not just about the things that I’ve been through, it’s more mature, it’s sexier, it’s soulful,” Lovato dished. “It’s a new chapter in my life, I’m tired of my past defining who I am.”
Speaking of new chapters, the former Disney star has been strutting a toned physique as of late and she’s ready to show it off.
“I have worked on myself and I look hot, so I’m going to work it,” she told radio host Clara Amfo before performing. “I’m going to show the world that you can go from having an eating disorder and hating your body to wearing underwear on the cover of a magazine and love it. You know, it’s possible.”
As fans are well aware, Lovato spent three months in rehab in 2010 for “emotional and physical issues.” She’s since become an advocate for mental health awareness and launched the initiative Be Vocal: Speak Up for Mental Health.
