Angel or athlete? When it comes to Victoria’s Secret models, each handpicked for the lingerie brand’s annual show, they’re the definition of both. Us Weekly has exclusive details about the workouts that some of the shows biggest stars including Georgia Fowler, Megan Williams, Nadine Leopold do to get runway ready.

Angels such as Nadine Leopold, Devon Windsor and Blanca Padilla are devotees of P.volve, a workout that focuses on small impact-free movements. “It naturally transforms body tone and definition through sustainable movements without damaging, straining or bulking muscle,” creator and celebrity trainer Stephen Pasterino exclusively shares with Us Weekly.

Leading up to the show, Pasterino has Leopold, Windsor and Padilla train three to four times a week for 60-minute sessions. “For these girls, and all of my clients, it’s all about confidence …. [they need to] feel good about themselves strutting down the runway, having all the right muscles pop up and accentuated, and that’s what we focus on,” he says. “My method gets rid of any unwanted jiggle while keeping everything lifted up and tight. We also contour the abs without enlarging them and create a proportionate feminine shape.”

The reason so many Angels are fans of the method makes sense because it’s meant to create look-good-naked results. “It’s a full-body workout but I focus mainly on the hips and glutes,” explains Pasterino. “The glutes are the biggest, strongest muscle… and doing squats or lunges are only working one tiny section of the glute. I created exercises that work every angle of the glute and as a result, the booty gets lifted and firm, but most importantly, the muscle is functioning properly.” His signature booty-boosting moves include the P.sit, open wide stance, 90 degree internal step out and long leg squeeze.

A surprising characteristic of P.volve is that “it’s an anti-pulse method, meaning I don’t go over eight reps in any exercise,” Pasterino tells Us. “I’ve found that my clients tend to lose perfect form after that number and go into fatigue — your muscles should be singing, not screaming. I believe in slow and controlled exercises, which trigger a mind-muscle connection versus moving quickly through exercises for a quick burn.”

Angels — such as Georgia Fowler and Megan Williams — are heading to workouts with Nike trainer Joe Holder, creator of his Ocho System method. “‘Train like an Angel’ meets ‘Train Like An Athlete‘” @georgiafowler,” he captioned a September Instagram video of the 26-year-old model performing supertough moves including TRX pull-ups and resistance band butt lifts at his New York City gym. He continued in the post,“the Ocho System is built upon a training philosophy that looks at horizontally integrating separate disciplines to create unity … While health/fitness and performance are inherently related they are distinctly different so I often look for ways to experiment and combine the two to create an approach that produces best results by gradually unlocking full athletic potential. Always have fun doing that with G!”

Other Victoria Secret pros, like Martha Hunt, have a specific body goal to focus on executing pre-show. “Operation Jennifer Lopez booty is in full effect,” Hunt revealed to Us in September. The 29-year-old North Carolina native is a fan of the barre workout Xtend: “I feel taller afterwards,” the model said.

She’s also sculpting her backside with her DIY workouts. “Leading up to the show, I am amping it up. I have been very glute-focused this year because I set a personal fitness challenge for myself to do 10 consecutive squats with really great form. I know that doesn’t sound that challenging but my squats just aren’t my expertise,” the Free People spokesmodel shared with Us. “I have bad form with squats so I do a few, usually three sets of 10 squats, [because] I want to see the progression from the beginning to the end.”
