All hail the ultra-fit, supertoned celebrity body! It’s tough enough staying svelte in your 20s, 30s and 40s, but plenty of fitspirational stars prove age really is just a number. Yes, Hollywood beauties tend to have genetics on their side — but even so, it takes plenty of time at the gym and a lifetime of healthy eating habits to stay fit after 50.

Although Brooke Shields has acted for decades and is still glowing, she hasn't always felt secure, she revealed to Yahoo in 2019. “I had a very strong disconnect to my body,” the former Suddenly Susan star said at the time. “I was the face on the covers, I was the eyebrows or the face or whatever the thing was that people and the press and everybody focused on. And because I was never really skinny, I never did runway. So I was always the one that was doing the magazines but often never fit into the samples.” She also was confused about being labeled as a "sex symbol" by others. “It was said that I was the most famous virgin, which is really great to live with,” she quipped. “How do you justify sexy screen siren and famous virgin? It’s a real disconnect and it’s really hard. And so, I look back and I think, I’m still surviving and I can’t believe that I didn’t turn into a train wreck. Seriously.” She also revealed to PorterEdit that she was body-shamed by her own family, something that really hurt her confidence. “I modeled swimwear when I was 15, and even then I didn’t think I had a swimsuit body. I was a cover girl, not a supermodel. I was ‘neck up’ – the face, the eyebrows – and I was always described as ‘athletic’; ‘not rail-thin’; ‘not a runway model.' Those messages, they seep into your consciousness," the Pretty Baby actress said in 2018. "My mother Teri, the original ‘momager,' who died in 2012 after a long battle with alcoholism, would get drunk and say: ‘Why don’t you move your fat ass?’ So, I’ve always believed I had a fat ass." In December 2019, Hatcher shared her extremely toned body via Instagram, posting a photo of herself in a string bikini. "Exercise has become a source of well being not a means to look good naked. As part of my @f45_training 8 week challenge we had to submit an after photo. So why actually post a pic of myself in a bikini? Well, this is my truth and being in this 55 year old body actually feels liberating," she wrote. "Here’s the thing. I’ve finally figured out how to be comfortable in my own skin. The former French first lady looked trés chic — and incredibly fit — on vacation in the south of France on July 27, 2019. Wearing a purple bathing suit as she swam in the ocean and clambered up rocky cliffs, the 51-year-old singer and former model was proof that dedication to fitness pays off. “I do an hour or two of cardio and some Pilates every day I can,” she told InStyle in 2018. “In New York I take the Core Fusion Barre class at Exhale Spa."

In the pic, her arms, shoulders and legs are super toned and she has six-pack abs. “I’m lately really just trying to cut out sugar and carbs — the Beyoncé diet, basically. Looking fierce in leopard! On April 2, 2019, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star posted a photo of herself in a huge floppy hat and a tiny animal print bikini. “55 and Shameless 🐆,” she captioned the selfie, which highlighted her incredibly toned abs, legs and arms.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star celebrated being fit and happy by posting a bikini photo of herself on Instagram on January 30, 2019. “❤️Freedom like I’ve never felt it before,” the 55-year-old mother of models Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid captioned the joyous snap. Two weeks before, Hadid had posted a photo of herself “living in a body free of breast implants, fillers, botox, [extensions] and all the [bulls—t] I thought I needed in order to keep up with what society conditioned me to believe what a sexy woman should look like,” she wrote.

Over the 2019 New Year’s holiday, Hayek, 52, cataloged her trip to the ocean on her Instagram account. “I made it to the #water !!!,” she wrote on the photo above, posted December 29. Though not a fan of exercise, the actress once said she had worked “with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long. So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles. She taught me to tone them without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension.”

The Madam Secretary star, 52, showed off some serious abs and toned legs in Barbados on December 27, 2018. On vacation with her ex-husband, David Duchovny, and their two kids, Madelaine and Kyd, the actress rode a jet ski and splashed in the surf. She credits her fit body to staying active in small, daily ways. “The best way to get from A to B is to walk. And I’m a fast walker,” Leoni once told Us Weekly. “In all honesty, I think walking is the best thing.”

The Real Housewives of New York City star is better than ever after a summer stint in rehab for alcohol abuse. On December 4, 2018, she showed off her toned arms, legs and abs on the beach in Miami. “I was drinking quite a bit so I lost weight and my skin got better. Everyone's been saying, 'You look so much better.' So that feels really good too,” she told Us in November. To keep up her svelte physique, the Countess Collection with SuperJeweler designer revealed she focuses on exercise and a common sense diet technique: “I take walks, do yoga and try not to eat too much in one sitting.”

In June 2018, a toned and tanned Parker, 53, enjoyed a day at the beach in New York’s Hamptons. While the Sex and the City alum enjoys an occasional dance-based workout with Anna Kaiser, the founder of AKT, her fitness M.O. is more about staying active day-to-day. As the actress told The Doctors in a 2016 interview, “I live in the city. I walk a lot. Right now that’s all I have time for but I also live in a house with like four or five flights of stairs and I have a Fitbit.” Her daily step goal: 10,000, or approximately five miles.

Over the last year, the seemingly ageless actor has portrayed incredibly fit superheroes (see: Wonder Woman) and supervillians (see: House of Cards). And her roles have pushed the 52-year-old star to increase her dedication to her workout routine even more. For her arms and core, her trainer, Grace Lazenby, revealed to Harper’s Bazaar in October 2017 that Wright practices Pilates rowing exercises: “You’re engaging your chest, core, back triceps and biceps,” she said. The actress, who has followed a strict Paleo diet at times, also starts many of her days with a run on the beach.

For her 60th — yes 60th — birthday, the 9-1-1 star took to Instagram to post a shot of her in a two-piece that highlighted her cut abs, arms and thighs. “I think it’s a frame of mind,” the American Horror Story alum told Us of her health and wellness philosophy in June. “I see a trainer. If I was really religious about it, I’d go every day, but I try to do what I know: Eat right, move right, think right, do right.”

This is 50?! The former Real Housewives of New York City star, who marked her milestone in May, doesn’t play favorites when it comes to fitness. An avid horseback rider who’s been a runner for years, she fell in love with SoulCycle in 2017. “I think a lot of women exhaust themselves and they age a lot quicker,” The model told Us that spring, confiding that adding the cult cycling class was a “game changer.” She continued: “I would say I work out only three times a week, which is less than before, and I like my body a lot more.”

“I believe in gentle exercise and lots of it. So, I believe in being active, going for walks, stretching, maybe a little yoga or a little Pilates,” the actress and model told Us in October 2018. She’s not, however, a fan of what she calls “high-energy sports,” saying, “I don’t actually think they do you much good. As for her daily routine, “I walk every day, so I try and hit my 10,000 steps a day and I do some stretching every day.” And she says she never skips breakfast: “I like things like an omelet, or I like avocado on toast, or some tomatoes.”

She’s 71 and just as sexy as ever. The Pilates devotee declared in the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar that she likes The Pro Chair. “[It’s] great because it allows you to do a full-body workout in just 20 minutes,” she said of the at-home exercise tool. “You can do cardio on it too.” Perhaps more importantly, the soap legend is strict with her diet. “I rarely eat dessert, never snack and I don’t eat a lot of bread and pasta,” she admitted.

At 54, the Friends alum looks just as fit as she did at 34. As she told New Beauty magazine in June 2017, “I’ve been doing Pilates for years, and in the last year, I’ve started doing electrical stimulation workouts with my trainer, Foued Douma. It builds and strengthens my muscles. I also try to stretch and run once a week and play tennis on Sundays, which I love.”

Much like her daughters, the 62-year-old momager will try just about any fitness trend to stay in the best shape possible. But as Jenner — who copped in June 2017 to waking up at 4:30 a.m. to squeeze in her sweat sessions — has noted, there’s no substitute for hard work. “I try to work out as much as possible and eat right,” she told Heat magazine. “I’m a foodie so I love to eat, so it’s a problem.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star looks far younger than her 51 years. And while genetics got her into her fifth decade looking good, she’s not planning to take nature for granted! In an October 5 Instagram post showing a video of her doing squats and overhead arm presses, she announced she was back on the workout train. “It’s been a minute but I am recommitting myself,” she wrote. “I felt great after! Day 1 ain’t no joke tho.”

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, the star committed herself to living in the healthiest way possible. Now cancer free for over a decade, the “If It Makes You Happy” singer is still dedicated to her exercise regimen and healthy diet. But she also focuses on her mental health. "One of the things that has changed my life—and this comes from someone who was highly self-critical and a type-A personality—is meditating,” she has said. “The simple act of making my brain shut off for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes at night may not seem like much, but what ends up happening, besides creating space in your day, is your awake posture begins to replicate your meditative posture.”
