Not so fast! Though Bristol Palin raised some eyebrows on Thursday, June 25, with her less-than-celebratory pregnancy announcement, the daughter of Sarah Palin took to her blog to clarify the details surrounding her second pregnancy on Sunday, June 28.
"I made a mistake, but it's not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume," she wrote. "This pregnancy was actually planned. Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn't go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on."
Palin, 24, was scheduled to get married over Memorial Day weekend to Dakota Meyer, but the pair called off their wedding the week before.
"I do not regret this baby," Palin continued. "This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!"
She went on to defend herself against those comparing her current situation to her first pregnancy.
"I’m not 17 anymore, I am 24. I’ve been employed at the same doctor’s office for over six years now; I own a home; I have a well-rounded, beautiful son," she wrote. "When I realized I was pregnant, I knew I would be completely crucified. But I never even thought of aborting this child, NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE. (Sorry to the ghouls at Gawker, who said this baby is an argument FOR abortion. Not happening.)."
In her initial post, Palin seemed less upbeat about her situation, writing, "I've been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one. I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family."
